Perro Salado
Bud and Baley's favorite Mexican spot in Newport! Located in an old colonial downtown, just outside of Washington Square. Great margs and the sticky pork ribs are delicious!
Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge
If you have some time for a walk/light hike, we recommend checking out Sachuest Point. Nestled between Second and Third Beach, it is one of our favorite places on the island and the perfect spot for a nature walk or jog! It has two separate loops that are ~1.5 miles each, or you can stay on the perimeter for a beautiful 2.5 mile loop. Expect ocean views, nice breezes, and lots of wildlife (deer are everywhere)!! Parking and access are free. Enjoy!
Pour Judgement
Located on Broadway, PJ's is one of our favorite spots in Newport. Expect an awesome, laid-back local bar with Touchtunes and the best food/bartenders ever (shoutout Bennet)! Must-try menu items: -Gouda fries (!!!) -Thai shrimp nachos -Beet & goat cheese salad (add chicken)
Midtown Oyster Bar
Our favorite seafood spot downtown. You can't go wrong here, but we love heading upstairs to the second floor burgee bar and ordering an espresso martini!
Ocean Drive
Start on either end for a stunning, scenic drive. If it's windy, there will be some kites flying (and possibly the Del's truck!) at Brenton Point State Park!
Eisenhower House
The very favorite picnic spot of our officiant and pal, Kaitlyn!! Pick up sandwiches from Marco’s or The Protective Club and head to the lawn at Eisenhower House (at Fort Adams). It's the perfect place to enjoy the breeze and a beautiful view of Narragansett Bay!
Surf Club
Midtown's more casual little sister, we loooove Surf Club for lunch, dinner, cocktails, or Sunday brunch. It is an awesome downstairs restaurant with a great outside patio and bar. Would recommend the watermelon marg and twisty bread!
Fort Adams State Park
The site of our beloved Newport Folk Festival. The Fort is a lovely spot to walk around and watch the boats go by!
The Cliff Walk
Would recommend checking out The Cliff Walk early in the morning, if you have never been. Tends to be packed by midday on a nice summer day, but for good reason!
