Both our ceremony and reception will take place at Kempenaar's Clambake Club, located at 323 Valley Road, Middletown, Rhode Island.
Dress Code: Cocktail Attire We'll be dressing up for the occasion and hope you'll join us— think suits or shirts and jackets for men, and cocktail dresses, elegant jumpsuits, or dressy separates for the ladies. We plan to save our jeans and shorts for Boat Day on Sunday! Please note that our venue is entirely outdoors with grass and gravel surfaces.

There sure is! We would love to kick off the weekend with you. Please join us for a casual welcome gathering on Friday at 7:30PM at Parlor Bar & Kitchen in Newport. Light appetizers will be provided, and drinks will be available for purchase.

Yes! There is plenty of free parking available on site. Chuckie Kempenaar has graciously offered for our guests to leave their cars overnight to retrieve them the following day. Please take advantage of this option, if needed. A rideshare like Uber or Lyft is also a great option, as Kempenaar's is a short drive from downtown Newport and is centrally located on Aquidneck Island.
The ceremony begins at 5:00 PM, and the celebration at Kempenaar's Clambake Club will wrap up around 11:00 PM. Afterward, feel free to join us as we head downtown for a pint!
We are excited to serve a traditional Rhode Island clambake. Entrée options include lobster, steak, chicken, or a vegetarian rice pilaf with sautéed vegetables, each accompanied by traditional clambake sides. Children’s meals will be available for any guests under 13, and include chicken from the open barbecue pit with classic sides.
Due to space limitations, we are only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation. If a plus-one is included, they will appear when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding! Please reach out to Bud or Baley with any questions.
Yes! Children are warmly welcomed and will be included on your invitation. A children’s meal will be available and includes chicken from the open barbecue pit, corn on the cob, potatoes, coleslaw, and hot brown bread.
We recommend that guests fly into T.F. Green Airport (PVD) or Boston Logan International Airport. PVD is the closest airport (about 35 minutes by car), while Logan offers more flight options (about 1.5-2 hours by car). Late August is a busy time in Newport, so please plan accordingly and allow extra time for travel.
We kindly ask that phones and cameras be put away during the ceremony so everyone can be present in the moment with us. Our wonderful photographer (Sierra at www.east-passage.com) will be capturing everything!
Beer & wine will be provided throughout the evening. Liquor & mixed drinks will be available for purchase. Bar is cash only— Kempenaar’s has an ATM on site.
They say rain on your wedding day brings good luck! Either way, we will be celebrating under covered tents and dancing the night away.
