Best Dog of Honor
Always sweet, pretty dramatic, will try to trick you into feeding her.
Bridesmaid
Sarah and Jami met when they were both living in Vermillion, South Dakota in 2009. Sarah had just moved there and didn't know anyone. They met at a house party and Jami called Sarah one afternoon and the rest is history. They used to hike, cross country ski, and cook Indian food together. Despite living apart, they catch up often and take every opportunity they can to see each other. Jami lives in Spearfish, South Dakota with her husband, Dave and baby, Fallon. She is a professional musician and runs a small farm on their land.
Bridesmaid
Suzy and Sarah met through Marie (Bridesmaid) and have become especially close over the last year. Suzy is a social worker and she makes great cookies. Suzy and her husband John (Groomsman) live in Seattle, but will be moving soon much to Brett and Sarah's dismay!
Bridesmaid
Marie and Sarah met in law school where they trauma bonded. Marie practices energy law and is on the Board of the Oregon Solar and Storage Industries Association. She lives in Portland with her Husband Sam (Groomsman) and a variety of pets. Sarah, Brett, Marie, Sam, Suzy (Bridesmaid), John (Groomsman), and Matt (Groomsman) take annual hiking or backpacking trips over labor day weekend. They all get together as often as they can in Portland or Seattle.
Bridesmaid
Jessie is one of Sarah's two cousins. They grew up together riding horses and skiing in West Yellowstone. Now they live 5 minutes apart in Seattle. Jessie is an occupational therapist and runs a book club that Sarah often hosts in her back yard. Jessie is an exceptional baker and quilter. Her daughter Elliot is a Flower Child in the wedding!
Bridesmaid
Sarah and Ruhani have been friends since middle school. Throughout life's many changes, and despite time and distance they still remain close friends. Ruhani lives in Greensboro, North Carolina, has three wonderful children--Hamzaa, Noora, and Adnon--and runs her own small business. She is going back to school for a masters in business.
Groomsman
I met Carl in Kalamazoo when I was invited over to his house for a fire and to drink cheap beer. Twelve years later, he's still the Mordecai to my Rigby. Carl is one of a kind. I couldn't ask for a better friend and partner in crime. Even after all this time, you can still find us off on some crazy adventure and loving every second of it. Carl is an avid long distance runner, used to teach English in Japan, and can eat more hamburgers than you.
Groomsman
I met John when I was invited out to celebrate his acceptance into medical school. Even though I had no idea how hard he had worked to get in, John welcomed me and immediately won me over with a joke about his wife, Suzy’s, cold feet (which he calls ice talons). John is a person who lightens any room, is incredibly dedicated, and has an uncanny ability to bring the best and sometimes the worst out of me! John is about to start his residency in Anesthesiology, he plays Magic the Gathering, and likes to spend time in the mountains and on the water. He lives in Seattle with his wife Suzy and their two cats.
Groomsman
I met Sam and Marie when Sarah had them over for dinner. Little did I know that Sam and I were Peas from the same pod and a beautiful bromance would blossom. Sam and I bring the worst out of each other and have the best damn time doing it. Sam lives in Portland. We still get together as often as we can and while I hate that he's so far away, let's face it, we might both be single if we lived any closer. He is a middle manager for a union, loves Oregon Duck football, and has been known to moonlight as a pack mule often carrying excessive amounts of alcohol to the top of mountains on backpacking trips. He lives with his wife Marie and a variety of animals!
Groomsman
Matt and I's friendship started on the first of, our now annual, labor day camping trips. It didn't take long for me to realize he was cut from a different cloth and is an incredible human being. Our friendship has been growing ever since. Anyone that has ever met Matt knows he is probably the nicest, most genuine, and selfless person of all time. I'm not sure how I found such a good friend, but I'm certainly not complaining. Matt has been an Army Medic for 13 years, and has one year left to finish his nursing degree. He will crush you with his hugs, sharpen your knives, and wash your dishes when he comes to your house.
Groomsman
Mason and I met at the bank. He walked by my desk saw my super cool Miz background. We talked wrestling and have been homies ever since. Our friendship has taken us from Kalamazoo to Seattle. While we've grown on and off the flag football field, our friendship hasn't changed. I'm still always open, and he's my Quarterback.
Groomsman & Dog Wrangler
Nick and I first met at PNC Bank in Kalamazoo. Our boss knew we would get along, and boy, was she right. Nick inspired me and ended up joining me on this crazy journey to Seattle. We had never been to the city. We knew no one and had no idea what we were going to do for work. I know if it wasn't for Nick, I wouldn't have met this lovely lady and all these wonderful friends. Nick has a heart of gold that knows no limits. Nick works at BECU bank and loves our dog almost as much as we do.
Flower Child
Sarah thinks of Elliot as a niece and has enjoyed watching her grow up. Her favorite subject is math, she is an avid reader, and loves all things Harry Potter! She is also perfecting her baskets on Brett’s Pop-a-Shot game. Watch out Carl, she is coming for your record! She lives 5 minutes away from Sarah and Brett with her mom, Jessie (Bridesmaid), dad Matt, and kitty Layla.
Flower Child
It’s a good thing the wedding was postponed. It gave little Arlo time to grow into a happy little toddler. He likes going on outdoor adventures with his folks and trying new foods (sometimes as hair products). He lives in McCall, Idaho with his Mom, Meredith, and Dad, Cameron (Sarah's Cousins).
Officiant
Scott is Sarah's uncle. He is hilarious and used to run a guide business in Yellowstone Park. He loves to sail, ski, and go crabbing. He and my aunt split their time between Big Sky, Montana and Greenbank, Washington.
