Kindly RSVP no later than Friday, May 10, 2024. If you cannot attend, we will miss you, and would appreciate you letting us know at the soonest opportunity. Those that do not RSVP by May 10, 2024 will be marked as a "No." We will miss you celebrating with us; however, we have to provide a total guest count to our vendors in a timely manner in order to accommodate all of our guests. Thank you for understanding!
Denver is the Mile High City, so elevation is over 5,000 feet! In Golden (near our hotel), elevation is around 5,700 feet; elevation at the sunrise hike is just under 8,000 feet, and elevation at our reception is around 7,400 feet. Sunscreen is a must-have at higher elevations; we recommend wearing SPF 40+ daily, even if it's cloudy. Hats and light layers can help reduce the risk of sunburn. For those who are traveling in from closer to sea level, you may experience some altitude sickness in the mountains. Common symptoms of altitude sickness include dizziness, fatigue, shortness of breath, rapid heartrate, and headaches. Ibuprofen and motion sickness medicine (such as non-drowsy Dramamine) can help combat these symptoms. Please be sure to get plenty of rest, drink lots of water, and eat regularly to help reduce the risk of altitude sickness. Alcohol and caffeine can also affect you quicker at altitude, so use caution and we recommend drinking a glass of water between each alcoholic/caffeinated beverage.
The dress code for our reception is cocktail/formal attire. Think: Formal cocktail dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, suits, blazers, button down shirts, etc. Ladies, please do your best to avoid wearing blue. See the wedding party section for more information. Colorado weather can be temperamental, especially in the mountains. When packing for your trip, please consider layers, rain gear, and sunscreen. It will likely be cooler at night, so a light jacket is recommended. Our reception venue will also have some heaters outside, and we will provide some light blankets. Please note that cocktail hour will take place in the front garden of the mansion which has uneven pavers and gravel walkways throughout. Please consider this when choosing your shoes; we recommend block heels!
We love your little ones, but we want you to have the night off! We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us!
Unfortunately, due to venue capacity, we can only host those listed on the invitation. Invitations will be addressed to "Mr./Ms. XYZ & Guest" or "Mr./Ms. XYZ & Mr./Ms. ABC". Thank you so much for understanding!
Yes! We've reserved a block of rooms at the Denver Marriott West. Please use the link provided in the "Travel" section of our website or call 1-888-238-1803 and ask for the Gautschi-Teisl Wedding room block rate. The deadline to book a room at this rate is May 30, 2024. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please email our Marriott contact James Lundy at patrick.lundy@marriott.com.
Shuttle services will be provided to and from the reception; check the "Travel & Accommodations" section for more details! If you are driving yourself, take I-70 to Exit 256, the Lookout Mountain/Buffalo Bill Exit, and follow the signs—just 5 minutes from I-70. Please observe the 20 MPH signs on Colorow Road. Because Boettcher Mansion shares parking with the Lookout Mountain Nature Center, we are requesting that you carpool or consider group transportation.
Cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 PM. While this is a "soft start" to the reception, please arrive no later than 5:40 PM so you don't miss out on any of the fun!
Both! Weather permitting, our cocktail hour and special dances will be outdoors, while dinner and dancing will be hosted inside the mansion. The mansion grounds will be ours for the night, so feel free to take a stroll through the area! As stated above, we recommend a light jacket as it will be cool once the sun goes down. You are also welcome to bring an umbrella in the event of inclement weather.
