Omaha's zoo is amazing year round. Brandon's favorite exhibit is the Desert Dome and Brooklyn's favorite exhibit is Stingray Beach. If you are a runner like them, it can be a nice 2 miler with good people/animal watching. As one of the largest and most highly regarded zoos in the world, it’s easy to spend half or even a full day exploring.
Beautiful gardens with so many colors to see. Brandon and Brooklyn frequent Lauritzen and enjoy their special events like monarch migration tagging! They even took engagement photos in the conservatory. The grounds are always adding new features, like Sofia’s Play Garden, full of explorative outdoor learning and play opportunities for kids of all ages.

While you are in town, the traveling exhibit on display will be "Heroes and Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume"
Newly updated, the Joslyn is a lovely, unhurried way to spend an afternoon. The architecture is stunning, and the collection thoughtfully blends classic and contemporary works. Most galleries are free entry with the option to add a paid entrance to the traveling exhibit. While you are in town, the ticketed exhibit is called "Made in the Plains" and features new and diverse medium works by 20 artists from Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota.
One of Omaha’s newest and most distinctive attractions. The Luminarium is an interactive science and discovery center designed to spark curiosity at any age. It’s engaging, beautifully designed, and unlike anything else in the region. With windows that look out to the river, The Fig (restaurant located inside) is a delicious lunch spot as well.
Yet another great area in downtown Omaha to explore and unwind. This connected riverfront district includes walking paths, green space, fountains, playgrounds, volleyball courts, and the beautifully reimagined Gene Leahy Mall. Whether you’re strolling, relaxing, or exploring with kids, it’s a wonderful place to spend time outdoors along the river. You may even spot Dan and Mindi walking the dogs!
