Cape Cod is known for its beautiful beaches. Pick one and you can't go wrong. One of the most famous is Cape Cod National Seashore which features 40 miles of beaches on the Atlantic facing side of Cape Cod. Stop into the Wellfleet Beachcomber afterwards for a yummy bite to eat! If you didn't have a wedding to go to, on your way back you could stop into the Wellfleet Cinemas Drive-In for a movie and some mini golf. Bummer!
Explore Cape Cod on a bike with the Rail Trail bike path, which runs 25 miles from South Dennis all the way to Wellfleet. If you're staying at Ocean Edge, the hotel is located right along the trail and you can rent bikes right from the property. If you're staying elsewhere, there's a bike rental shop in almost every town on the cape!
P-Town is the most famous town on the Cape! Located on the northern tip of Cape Cod, Provincetown is a really fun destination with lots of great restaurants, shopping, beaches and history. Did you know the pilgrims first landed at Provincetown before making their way to Plymouth Rock? On a clear day, you can even see Pilgrim Monument across the bay from Ocean Edge. (Pilgrim Monument is the tower the pilgrims built, or something like that.) If you've got a day to spare, it's a really fun place to walk around. On your way back, stop by the Dune Shacks Trail for a long hike.
For the quintessential Cape Cod town closer to Ocean Edge, head over to Main Street in Chatham. Those looking to do some shopping while on the Cape will find everything from local gift shops to high end stores. Plenty of famous restaurants will keep you well fed while you wander the streets. If you're looking for a movie, the Chatham Orpheum is one of our favorite theaters on the Cape. Or head on down to the Chatham Pier Fish Market to watch the seals follow the fishing boats into the harbor.
Cape Cod is filled with delicious seafood and our preferred method of exploration is via stomach. Everyone has their own personal favorites but for the best lobster roll head to Sesuit Harbor Cafe in Dennis (cash only & BYOB!), and for the best fried seafood head to Kream 'N Kone in West Dennis. If seafood isn't your thing, there are also a million ice cream shops around the Cape - we're partial to Sundae School in Dennis (also cash only!)!
