Our love story begins as most do: with a hot dance teacher catching the eye of a young dancer. Brooke and Sky met in the spring of 2013 at Wesleyan University. On a whim, they both decided to try out for a campus dance group - Brooke as the dancer and Sky as the choreographer. Brooke was charmed by Sky's long-winded, goofy rehearsal emails, and after showing up to her first rehearsal the week before the performance, Sky immediately noticed the bubbly, beautiful newcomer. After hitting it off at practice, Sky asked Brooke on their first date to go see "Silver Linings Playbook" at Metro Movies on Main Street. Shortly after, they became "official" during a lunch at their favorite restaurant: Japanica 2 - a sushi joint in the strip mall off Route 66, between the laundromat and Wow Fitness. After college, Brooke moved to New York and Sky followed her. This is a trend that would continue when Brooke moved to Chicago for med school, and back East for residency. Sky continued dragging Brooke to odd movies she had never heard of, and Brooke continued to push Sky’s spirit of adventure. She taught him how to ski, how to make chicken parmesan, and how to survive bad oysters in Galway. On December 31st, 2020, still in the midst of a global pandemic, Brooke and Sky were celebrating their New Years Eve by making lumpia in their kitchen (not a metaphor) with their cat Crazy Harry. Sky asked Brooke to go onto the roof to look at the city skyline. Brooke could tell something was up because when she hugged him she could feel his heart beating through his coat. On the roof, Sky got down on one knee and popped the question. They went back to their kitchen, Crazy Harry licked the ring and gave his blessing, and the rest is history.
