Technically, we met through Tinder in July 2016. However, a few weeks before that fateful swipe, Brooke came to Creature Comforts Brewery with her family for a belated Father's Day outing. At the time, Caitlin was working in the taproom as a tour guide, and Brooke and her family came on her tour. Caitlin is extremely charming and a natural public speaker, so it's no wonder that Brooke fell in love at first sight. It also helped that Caitlin was carrying around the brewery's brand new brewery kitten, Auto (works like a charm). Caitlin, unfortunately, does not remember this, which Brooke reminds her of every chance she gets. After the tour, Brooke's parents, Mike and Cindy, stayed behind to remind Caitlin that she once served them Brunch (fried egg burger) at her past job at Trappeze Pub. The stars were aligned!!! A few weeks later, a swipe occurred, and the rest, as they say, is history. Even though Caitlin's first message to Brooke was simply, "Go Dawgs" (a house divided!). We remained semi-long distance, with Brooke living and working in Atlanta and Caitlin in Athens for nearly 5 years. Then, a little thing called COVID-19 happened (ever heard of it?) and Brooke moved in with Caitlin in Athens. The wheels were in motion for a long-awaited proposal and the start of our joined lives together. We also got a cat that we never shut up about. Green Bean, if you're reading this, your moms love you. In summer 2021, we went on vacation in Florida to visit Brooke's parents Mike and Cindy, and while Brooke was in the bathroom at The Palace Saloon (the oldest continually operating bar in Florida. The bartender is the mayor!!!) Caitlin asked Mike and Cindy for their blessings, and then quickly had to tell them to stop crying before Brooke got back. Caitlin proposed in September (on Beyonce's birthday) at Kimball House where we celebrate our anniversary every year. We love each other so much, and we are so excited to share that love with our friends and family in our favorite town. We can't wait to see everyone!
