Denver International Airport (DIA)

DIA is the best place to fly into. It is a 4 hour drive from DIA to Gunnison. There is also a Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport, but flights tend to be less frequent. Feel free to check out both options and see which one works best for you. Rental cars are available at both airports. View link below for driving directions from DIA to Gunnison, CO.

Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport

The regional airport is located right outside of Gunnison, CO and is only a 5 minute drive to the town center and many of the hotels and less than a 10 minute drive to the venue. There are only direct flights to this regional airport from Denver, Houston, and Dallas. Otherwise it is possible to fly into Denver (DIA) and then take a second flight to the regional airport if you prefer not to drive from Denver. The flight from Denver to Gunnison is 1 hour.

Denver to Gunnison Bus

There is a bus that goes from Denver Union Station to Gunnison once a day. The drop off location in Gunnison is at the Econo Lodge. Traveling to Gunnison, the bus leaves Union Station in Denver at 1:50PM and arrives at the Gunnison Econo Lodge at 6:40PM. For the return trip, the bus leaves the Gunnison Econo Lodge at 6:15AM and arrives at Denver Union Station at 10:50AM. There is also a light rail train that goes from Denver International Airport to Denver Union Station and back (Find more info here: https://www.denver.org/about-denver/transportation/denver-airport-rail/).

Econo Lodge

We have a block of 50 rooms at the Econo Lodge. These rooms are ranging in price from $99 - $119 a night with two larger rooms that are $180 a night. There are multiple room options to choose from including rooms with 1 queen or king bed and rooms with 2 double or queen beds. The block is for Friday Sept. 2nd - Monday Sept. 5th; however, if you would like to stay longer or shorter than this time frame they should be able to accommodate. Rooms will be held for our block until June 30th, 2022 so please book early if you would like to stay here. If you are interested in booking a room at the Econo Lodge, the block is under the name “Hartney Wedding” and you will need to call and use this name to book a room in the block. It may also be helpful to reference the group account #: 4338809 to help the front desk locate the block. We are also planning to have a shuttle service to and from the wedding venue for this hotel options only. We will get a schedule of ride times figured out for the shuttle once we know how many people are staying here.

If you would like to stay somewhere other than the Econo Lodge, here are some other hotel options that are walking distance to the shops and restaurants on main street: Holiday Inn Express & Suites (910 E Tomichi Ave, Gunnison, CO 81230) Quality Inn (400 E Tomichi Ave, Gunnison, CO 81230) Here are some other hotels in the area that are a little further out: Comfort Inn & Suites (911 N Main St, Gunnison, CO 81230) - This is the closest hotel to the venue, but is at the north end of town and further from the main restaurant and shop area which is at the south end of main street. The Inn at Tomichi Village (41883 US-50, Gunnison, CO 81230) - 5 mins east of town Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham (701 US-50, Gunnison, CO 81230) - By the regional airport

Other Non-hotel Stay Options

Other house and rental options can be found by search VRBO or Airbnb online. Three Rivers Resort: Located in Almont 25 mins outside of Gunnison and 20 minutes from the wedding venue. There are cabins and lodge rooms available here as well as RV sites. Some are first come first serve and some can be reserved. Most of these have RV sites and tent camping sites. The reservable campsites can be reserved 6 months ahead of time on Recreation.gov. These reserve out fast so reserving 6 months before hand is recommended if you would like to camp. These campsites are 30+ minutes from the wedding venue depending on how far up the Taylor River you go. The closest reservable campground is One Mile Campground.
