In 2017, both Brook and Rhett embarked on a significant journey, leaving their hometowns to move to Colorado and join the Air Force. Little did they know that this decision would not only advance their athletic and professional careers but also set them on a path to love. They met on the very first day of basic training, both assigned to the 11th squadron at the Air Force Academy. Over the next month, they forged a bond with 30 of their new closest friends becoming part of the newest class of cadets. Throughout the following two years, their friendship grew stronger. It wasn't until their junior year, when they lived on opposite sides of campus, that their friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship. After graduating from the academy, Rhett and Brook moved to Dayton, Ohio, to pursue their masters degrees. Living in the midwest allowed them to explore new places and create cherished memories together. They spent their free time running, kayaking and rock climbing. Following their time in Ohio, they relocated to Del Rio, Texas, near the Mexican boarder, continuing their journey side by side. During winter break in Del Rio, Rhett surprised Brook by driving all the way from Texas to Idaho. They visited Grand Teton National Park, a place of special significance as Brook's parents were married there in 1993. In front of the majestic snow covered Tetons, Rhett proposed, creating a beautiful memory of their own. Now, their next adventure awaits them in New Jersey, where they will live together for the first time without roommates. They are thrilled to embark on this new chapter, building a home and a future together.
