Modesto Things To Do

Modesto, located in California's Central Valley is surrounded by farms and almond orchards. It is the hometown of George Lucas and his childhood here is the inspiration and setting of the film American Graffiti. It is also home to E&J Gallo Winery, and is the setting of the "Glorious" music video by Macklemore (he and his grandmother egg a house together, go watch it: https://youtu.be/7OrLroFa0AI) Modesto is about 90 minutes east of San Francisco and the Bay area, and 90 minutes west of Yosemite National Park. While not typically a tourist destination in and of itself, Modesto is close to A LOT of destinations in central and northern California. City, beaches, mountains, wineries, and more, all within a two hour radius. Never heard of Modesto before? No problem! We got you covered with some recommendations for stuff to see and do and eat in the area.
