FAQs

Question

It's on a Sunday?

Answer

Yes! May 29th, 2022 is the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. We hope this allows you some extra travel time so you can join us for our special day.

Question

How's the weather going to be?

Answer

Modesto in late May will likely be quite warm, or even hot, especially at the start of the evening. The ceremony and reception will both be outdoors, but shaded, and with access to the mansion house during the reception. Sunscreen and proper hydration are recommended to make sure you enjoy your evening to the fullest.

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

Yes! Free parking is available at the mansion.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

All of our guests are spending a lot of time and money already to attend our wedding. Your attendance is honestly the only gift we want.

Question

What should I know about attending a Jewish wedding?

Answer

There's nothing special you need to do as a guest! Just come and expect to have fun and maybe learn a little bit along the way. Rabbi Shalom of Congregation Beth Shalom in Modesto is our officiant and will be explaining what's going on throughout so you can understand. If you want an overview of the rituals and traditions that you will see at our wedding, we recommend reading through this article: https://18doors.org/Elements_of_a_Jewish_Wedding_Ceremony/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAjc2QBhDgARIsAMc3SqQd0pUePBhjhVnlcGZHNxQ5KCJ0dJ0Pvyotes-2LKvG1p62m6_UbCkaAjXMEALw_wcB

Question

What about COVID?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be outdoors and we ask that all guests please get yourself vaccinated and boostered. If you are unwell or have been recently exposed to someone with COVID, please do not attend the wedding. We do not want to give out coronavirus as a wedding favor. Thank you.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We will not have many children attending the wedding, so your young ones might be a little bored. Additionally, the McHenry Mansion has strict rules for children attending events, and explicitly asks us to discourage guests from bringing children in their rental agreement. Their rules for children are as follows: 1. Children are not permitted to operate the elevator. 2. Children must be accompanied by an adult in using the elevator. 3. Children are not permitted on the second floor unless accompanied by an adult. 4. Children must specifically be accompanied by an adult on the first floor (main floor). There should be one specific adult for every two children. 5. An adult should accompany children to the restrooms. 6. NO running in the Mansion. 7. During wedding receptions, children must stay with a designated supervisor. 8. Children must behave appropriately. If they do not behave, the designated supervisor must ask the parents to take their children home.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Of course. For guests traveling out-of-state, we understand the wish to have a travel companion for your trip to California, and we would welcome said partner/friend/family member/etc. to join us at our wedding as well. Please make sure to include your plus one in your RSVP.

Question

Am I in the wedding party?

Answer

We love you and hope that you will play a very special role in our big day, but we are not having any offical bridal party roles. Except Ahrang the Cat. He's Brinae's best man. He insisted.
