Atlanta (ATL) to Rome (FCO) - Recommended

Rome Fiumicino (FCO) is the only airport close to Villa Baroncino offering direct flights from the United States, located approximately 3+ hours away by train. Highly recommend flying into Rome over other airports such as Florence or Milan. Travel time: 9.5 hours

Rome to Villa Baroncino by Rental Car

All rental car desks are located in Office Tower 2 on the fourth floor of the parking garages. Address: Fiumicino Airport Leonardo Da Vinci Epua 2 Tower Fiumicino Roma, IT, 00054 Companies available: Avis-Budget, Hertz, Enterprise. Total Distance: 138 miles, approximately 2.5-3 hours, mostly on a 4 to 6 lane freeway. WARNING this will be a hard drive after the long flight, with lots of highway driving. Rome is a crazy place to drive. May want to spend the night in Rome to rest before attempting this drive. Documents Required: - Valid driver's license from your country - International Driving Permit (IDP) (get this from AAA before traveling, as it's required in Italy) - Passport or national ID card - Credit card in the driver's name (debit cards usually not accepted) Important Note: Most rental cars in Italy have manual transmission - if you need an automatic, you MUST reserve it in advance

Rome (FCO) to Villa Baroncino by Train/Taxi

1. Take Leonardo Express Train from the Rome Airport to Termini Station. The Leonardo Express Train is a direct, non-stop train service connecting Rome Airport to Roma Termini station, journey takes ~30 minutes. 2. Take train from Roma Termini station to Terontola-Cortona station, journey takes approximately 2-3 hours. *Note Termini station can be very crowded and pick pocketers are everywhere... hold your purses tight. 3. Take a taxi from Terontola-Cortona station to Villa Barancino (details on taxi scheduling below). Note: Trains operate from 6AM-10:30PM so plan your flights accordingly. Recommended flight arrival time is 10AM-2PM. Train fares: €20-50

So you Googled "flights to Florence" and got all excited seeing it's only 90 minutes from Villa Baroncino? PLOT TWIST: There are literally zero direct flights from the US to Florence. Not one. Nada. This flight will be 11-13 hours of travel time (including a layover in Frankfurt) Is it worth it? You do you, boo.
