Our host hotel is officially sold out! There is a pool on property and many of us will be hanging there during the day, so please come join us before/after the wedding festivities! We recommend the majority of our guests stay in Amarante. We’re in love with the town so you can’t go wrong staying here! There will be shuttles transporting our guests staying in the lovely town of Amarante (15min drive) for the welcome dinner & wedding night.

During our first venue visit to Monverde, we spent a day playing in Amarante-a totally gorgeous, walkable, charming historic village on the Tâmega River-just a quick 15min drive from the Monverde property. Casa das Lérias caught our eye immediately for its exterior charm and lovely coffee shop-walking distance to restaurants, shops, cafes and more. The boutique hotel has modern rooms and oodles of natural light. All rooms include free WiFi, TV, Lavazza Coffee-machine, mini bar, safe, hair dryer, telephone, and air conditioning. Des Arts GuestHouse & Casa do Ribeirinho: A few simple, quirky but still charming boutique hotels right in the center of Amarante (more cost-effective; rooms start around €40/night) 4615 Hotel Felgueiras: This boutique hotel is in a smaller town called Lixa (6min from Monverde/the venue) with a few walkable restaurants and coffee shops. Modern and newly renovated with a restaurant, nice outdoor terrance and pool! (rooms start at €93/night)! Peso Village is a gorgeous boutique hotel also located within a vineyard just outside the town of Amarante/25min away from the venue. There are 4 suites and 4 houses with a lovely common area and among 40 acres of vines #morewinealways. (rooms start at €160/night) Casa da Calcada is a FAB 5-star hotel in Amarante (located in a historic castle fortress-so cool) though currently under renovations with no scheduled opening date. Hopeful it will be open for all during the wedding to to check out the restaurant, grounds and more! Travel Note
We totally recommend driving around Portugal if you are open to it, and if your trip allows! It is a stunning landscape, with so much to see within a few hours drive including some of the best vineyards in the world (Duoro Valley!) and an incredible coastline (which these FL kids love). Cars drive on the same right side/drivers on the left side just like the U.S., but be aware the fuel prices are 3x the cost of fuel in the U.S. currently. There are trains between most cities as well as Ubers, BOLT (local ride-share) and taxis available in the Amarante/Teloes area.

Monverde and Amarante are a 50min drive from the Porto airport (Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport); 3.5hr drive from the Lisbon airport (Humberto Delgado Airport),
Flight
Lisbon and the Lisbon airport is just over a 3hr drive from Monverde/Amarante (or 3.5hr train Lisbon-->Porto; still 50min drive/Uber to Monverde). We LOVE Lisbon, definitely worth adding to your trip if time allows!
