We are overjoyed to bring our humans together in Portugal to celebrate this next chapter. It's truly a celebration honoring you all as much as it is us: We would not be at this pivotal point in our relationship without you. The guidance, the support, the good examples, the love. Whether or not you are able to make the trip across the pond (because hey, who plans a destination wedding 7 months in advance...) we love you all and we are so appreciative of your support. We also recognize traveling for a wedding is far from easy so we hope many questions can be answered on this site, and reach out to either of us for any questions we can answer. NOW...LET'S. GET. MARRIED!
Ohhh...let's revisit the origin of it all in an unexpected place for sparking magic: Greensboro, North Carolina. We met in a Marriott Hotel exec lounge, one of Lex's happy places with its free open bar & food, and Bridg's first time experiencing the luxury afforded to those who notch way too many travel days. Coworkers then-introduced by no other than Lex's brother Scotland himself-there was far from a spark that night, but a lifetime of adventures with lifelong friends began. Fast-forward to 2017, a few years into their time working together at Momentum, an event marketing agency that attracted many good humans (and now BFFs) who craved travel, adventure and cocktails, and something changed. Let's be real: Bridg had a crush on Lex for a while and Chitown boys weren't cutting it, and Lex was finally entering his 30-might not be too far off to say the stars aligned. Lex, who began as the confident, mysterious, adventurous (and very attractive) and unattainable "dude on the road"-started becoming the smart, quirky, goofy and introspective guy. After lots of flirting off & on, Bridg asked him if they could "just try dating already" in Baltimore (yet another unexpected city of love) and the rest is history.
Nothing like a last-minute trip to Chile for two kids burning up in the Florida summer. We always wanted to ski in South America, so when Lex found cheap flights from Miami-->Santiago, Chile, we booked them before we could think twice or plan anything through. Enter a late night Pinterest search 2 weeks before, involving many G&Ts for Lex & Bridg, and they found the dreamiest place: Portillo, an incredible gem of a ski resort near Santiago buried in the Andes Mountains. Though snow conditions were poor, spirits & pisco sour glasses were high. Even after Lex fractured his hand boarding spring-condition snow, he didn't let it get in the way of his secret plan. During a morning hike (once again, "spring-condition snow"...), we stopped next to Lagoona del Inca-a stunning lake at the base of the resort with panoramic views of the Andes Mountains-to bend down to feel the ice cold water...and the kid popped down on one knee. Ring box in his fractured hand and all, he asked Bridg's favorite question of the whole trip: "So...will you?!" Bridg had to ski solo the rest of the day with Lex's injury, but you better believe she took off her mitten 1000x to make sure that thing was still there. They celebrated with ample bubbles, empanadas, dancing and hottub parties with all of their new BFFs at Portillo-now time to party!!
