HOW WE MET.... (AS NARRATED BY MEGAN)

It happened in a crowded bar, we both looked across the room and connected eyes, knowing instantly that we were made for each other... wait, that was the Hallmark movie on last week. Ok, so it was online using a dating app.....Many of us Dodger fans can remember the 2018 post-season where several games stretched well into extra innings. Well, to avoid the stress both of us took to the phones, swiping left and right until we stumbled on each other's profiles.... Megan swiping right due to his charming smile and fun pics (not to mention his Flynn Ryder Disney reference) and Kevin swiping right due to the enchanting eyes and smile looking back at him. Innings later, the Dodgers won and we had the start of what would become our fairy tale story.

THE ENGAGEMENT (AS NARRATED BY KEVIN)

After being in Japan for a couple weeks without her, Kevin knew this was what he wanted to do. Upon coming home from Japan (and barely avoiding flight cancellations thanks to COVID), the world shut down. He set out to find a jeweler that was actually able to open (they weren't but were kind enough to see me anyways). Kevin contacted Dani Flynn (Maid of Honor) for ring advice since Megan's style is all over the place. Dani gave great advice and the jeweler put it into action. The proposal in Ireland was on. Then it wasn't....damn COVID. Fast forward to June when we were supposed to be in Ireland. On Kevin's birthday, he conned Megan into going for a walk, only to find out that morning of a potential COVID exposure (Thanks Bill). Megan didn't want to go outside, but I was persistent as I had a plan! I agreed that we would drive to where I wanted to walk and if it was too crowded, we wouldn't go. So we drive up to the beach spot and there's fifty cars or so and she instantly says "No". Not a good sign....however she's said "No" before so he wasn't deterred. They drove further onto the Palos Verdes peninsula as he was determined to find a secluded beach area where this could happen. After winding through the neighborhood, they found a barely accessible cliff with a path to the beach. No one was on this beach at all as sunset approached. They navigated down to the rocky beach and over to the tide pools to explore. She wandered all over the place and made it very hard to actually do this proposal (more bad omens? I think not). He got her to stop moving by saying he was going to take a picture of her looking off into the sunset. Kevin HATES these types of pictures but she totally fell for it. As she's looking away for a far too long time period, he got down on one knee and surprised her with a ring and a speech neither of them can remember now. And to think, she almost ruined the whole thing....I hope you enjoyed the many tense/person changes here....
