Tubbs hill is a 165 acre natural area that is surrounded by Lake Coeur D'Alene on the West, South, and East sides. There is a 2.2 mile trail around the hill that is great for walking/running/hiking. Leif and I also love to take the trail part away around the hill and then head down to the water to enjoy a small private natural beach all to ourselves. There are many small beaches and coves along the water that are fun to check out! We usually bring something to float on, a sack lunch, and some music to an enjoy an afternoon on the water. If you are looking for something a little more exciting, they allow cliff jumping off of Tubbs. I would just go where you see others jumping. Leif and I have both cliff jumped at Tubbs.
Leif and I had our first date at this park and we now live a couple blocks away from this park. Designed and built in 1913, Manito is a 90 acre public park with multiple gardens (a rose garden, Japanese garden, and English garden to name a few) with a public arboretum. All of Manito is beautifully landscaped and both free and open to the public. We highly recommend spending an evening strolling the grounds.
River Front park was home to the World Fair in 1974 and is still in the center of Downtown today. There is walking trails with beautiful views of the Spokane river, Spokane falls, and the Monroe Street bridge. River Front Park is also across from River Park Square where there is both shops and eateries. They also have a SkyRide gondola that you can take to see aerial views of the falls
Coeur D'Alene City Park and Beach has grass, bathrooms, picnic tables and a very long strip of sandy beach perfect for spending a day at the lake! CDA City Park is also right in the heart of Downtown CDA and there are multiple shops and places to eat within walking distance.
In the area for a while and want to ride a roller coaster? Silverwood theme park is an amusement park located in northern Idaho, near the town of Hayden, approximately 47 miles from Spokane on U.S. route 95.
Moon Dollars Bistro has excellent pub food and is located just three minutes from out venue. They also have a Post Falls location if you are staying out that way.
This is a great lite to moderate 3.3 loop trail in the CDA area with beautiful views of the lake. Do not leave anything valuable in your car at the trailhead. Trailhead is 11 miles East of the CDA city center.
This is one of Leif's and I's Favorite breweries in the area. They specialize in IPA's but have a large selection of other beers on tap and lots of seating both outside and inside. They also have food trucks operating on certain nights.
This is One of Leif and I's favorite restaurants in Spokane. During the summer months you can sit on the roof and eat. They have a bunch of delicious, unique, homemade cocktails and all of their food is cooked in the back in a wood fire oven. We recommend the maple bourbon chicken which is more than big enough to split.
This brewery never disappoints. The beers here wouldn't be our usual first choices, but every time we go here we find a great unique beer.
Good beer. Good food. Inside and outside seating. Cute neighborhood. Need we say more?
Mary Hill Winery is located in the Kendall Yards neighborhood of Spokane, just west of downtown. This tasting room offers beautiful views of the Spokane river with an outdoor patio. We highly recommend taking a stroll on the trail just below the winery or just taking a walk around this neighborhood. The views are gorgeous! There is also some food available at this tasting room.
Bardenays is a local chain of restaurants/distilleries with great cocktails and a menu featuring northwest cuisine.
This is Spokane's local cider house! They have good food and plenty of local and guest ciders on tap!
This place can have quite the wait, so I'd recommend grabbing a reservation, but they have great pizzas, sandwiches, salads and a huge beer list.
Industrial gastropub with locally sourced bar bites and many handcrafted beers, plus live music.
