Getting Around

Taxis are readily available on the island. The roads are narrow and rarely have sidewalks so walkability is limited and not recommended. ***Expect taxis to charge per person. The Sand Dollar Estate provided the following Taxi service: Papeto Taxi (340) 344-3207 The charge is $12/person one way. The Ferry port to the other islands is located in the Red Hook area. There is a schedule of departures throughout the day. You will be picked up at 4 o'clock on Thursday, January 29th, 2026 and transported to the wedding venue. Pick up #1: The Sand Dollar Estate (Everyone staying in the Peterborg area) Pick up #2: Sea View Villa (Address: Estate Nazareth, East End, St. Thomas 00802, U.S. Virgin Islands)

Sapphire Beach

Check out the Sapphire Beach Resort. It has great condos, a fantastic beach, 5 restaurants on property and a half mile to Red Hook which is the nightlife area and ferry to St John. Currently the beach bar there has a DJ Saturday nights and live music Sunday afternoons. Moe’s Market in Red Hook is a great grocery store to stock your condo’s kitchen. Having a condo is nice so you can pour your own drinks and make a few meals at home. Units at Sapphire Village can be quite affordable (more so than a hotel) and are a 5 min walk to the beach. There is a Cost U Less store locally to purchase groceries. It is similar to a Sam's Club or Costco, but does not require a membership to shop. Keep in mind that condo rentals are typically more affordable than a hotel stay and most offer the convenience of your own kitchenette.
