The ceremony site is part of Southern Maine Community College (SMCC). Enter "Fort Preble Bunker, Fort Rd, South Portland, ME" into Google Maps for the most accurate drop off site. We will have a designated area of parking for our wedding. There is also a drop-off area right in front of stairs going up to the bunker. The ceremony site is a short walk from parking and involves about 10 stairs and a short path to the top of the bunker. Once up there, it is a beautiful grassy area with crazy views. We will put out plenty of signs to help direct you!
Enter "Bunker Brewing, 17 Westfield Street, Portland ME" into Google Maps and the accurate information will come up. The brewery is slightly hidden if it's your first time there. The turn off of the main road (Congress Street) is always marked with Bunker's sandwich board sign, and we will also add a large sign for our wedding. Once turned, continue alllllll the way to the back even when you think you've gone too far! Again, we'll post signs to help!
First and foremost: We strongly recommend the use of Uber or Lyft or taxi if you plan on celebrating with alcoholic beverages - Ceremony site and brewery are 5.0 miles & 15 minutes apart, which is about a $10-12 Uber. Ceremony: Fort Preble Bunker is part of SMCC's campus. We are allowed to use campus parking. We will place signs to help direct where to park! Reception: There is ample parking at Bunker. Guests are able to park overnight and pick up their cars before noon on Sunday if you need to leave it behind.
(See Travel page.) We have blocked rooms for our guests at a discount at La Quinta in Portland. We strongly recommend staying in this hotel, as it is very close to the reception (0.4 miles / easy flat walk) and we've estimated the number of guests from out of town who will need overnight accommodations. If a hotel isn't your style, Portland has some great Airbnb's - just book early, September is still peak season and things go fast!
We ask that our guests wear cocktail attire. (Dresses, slacks, suits.) We encourage men to wear a jacket. Please bring an outer layer! Our ceremony will be outside right on the ocean and will possibly be chilly. The brewery's bay doors will also be open until 10pm, weather depending.
We will have an unplugged ceremony, so we ask that you leave cell phones and cameras in your bag. We hired an AMAZING photographer and 2nd shooter who will capture every moment. (For real - Cait is the BOMB). This is to allow everyone present to be in the moment with us, and to prevent photos with lots of cell phones out. She will be more than happy to share all the photos with guests afterwards. After the ceremony, go for it! Please take a BUNCH and help us document our day! And add our hashtag! #EricksonsBrewingLove
While we wish we could invite everyone, due to budget and size restrictions we can only accommodate those who are listed on the invitation you receive. If you have any questions, please reach out to us. Thank you for understanding.
No worries! Our caterer will have options available. We will be having a wood fired pizza truck and they can accommodate most things, except for a true gluten -allergy- due to the nature of having other dough around. Please let us know in advance what your needs are and we'll make it work!
Yes! We are providing guests with Bunker's beer on draft (it's so good!), wines, ciders, and non-alcoholic beverages. Due to the brewery's license, they are unable to legally serve hard liquor. If you have any questions please reach out to us!
