How We Met

2019

Brian and Cara were first introduced to each other by their siblings, Nathan and Erin, on a Sunday morning at Cornerstone Bible Chapel (the location they plan to be married)! Over the next several years, Brian and Cara occasionally saw each other at game nights, track meets, and hangouts, but never got to know each other very well. In 2021, as Cara was finishing her nursing degree, she took a part-time job aiding Brian's grandparents in their home. Fun Fact: Nathan was the Best Man at Erin's wedding (Cara's sister), and now will be the Best Man at Cara's!

How We Started Dating

2024

A few years after Cara graduated from college, she visited Brian's grandparents (Paul and Joan) again in their home. Paul, thinking that they would be a good match, reminded Cara that she had many things in common with his grandson, Brian. After Cara prayed about it and sought advice from a few trusted friends, she decided it would be worth a shot to reach out to Brian's family about him. Within a few days, Brian had texted Cara and set up a date! Their first date was in July on the pickleball courts at Black Creek Park. It was soon apparent that they did, in fact, have many things in common! Brian and Cara bonded over their shared faith in God, love for family, enjoyment of the outdoors, and medical careers. Many of their dates involved going on long walks at various parks around the greater Rochester area.

How We Got Engaged

2025

Brian popped the question on November 22nd, 2025. It was a sunny autumn day, so they took the opportunity to enjoy a long walk at Mendon Ponds Park. They talked, took in the views, and Cara had some chickadees land in her hands! She only grew suspicious when the sun was setting, but Brian insisted on trying walking paths that didn't lead back to the parking lot. As it was getting dark, Brian led Cara to sit on a bench, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him! Brian's grandmother (Lillian) gave him the diamond from her own wedding ring, and he got it set in a new band. Cara is honored to wear it!
