The wedding will take place in Newberg. We recommend taking some time to check out the local vineyards. If you don't have duties on Friday (the day of the wedding), come in early and beat the nasty traffic and cruise around the beautiful country trying the Willamette Valley delights. Or spend an extra day doing so!
Visit Oregon Trail Interpretive Center (near the bride's community in Oregon City) and learn some cool facts and see some real wagons!
Stay in town and join Reformation Covenant Church (the bride's community) Sunday March 11th for 11 o'clock worship and the following fellowship meal.
Take a 2.2. mile hike and see some of the glories of the gorge and see the biggest of the many falls in the area. Don't worry, there's hot chocolate at the bottom.
You're so close! You shouldn't leave without experiencing the foody, damp, and funky city of Portland. Wherever you stay, it's only a short drive or Max ride away. Check out the Pearl District, real downtown with Pioneer square, the Alphabet district, and more. Go on a coffee shop or local brewery tour. Visit a museum or two. Your options are endless, just be sure to eat! Go rogue (it's the best way and you will find the weirdest people and things), or check out some of the recommendations here. And, don't be worry, we aren't *really* like Portlandia. You will be safe, even if you are a carnivorous gluten eater.
Honor the bride and groom's book obsession and visit the legendary Powell's. There's some epic restaurants about (including yoga studio with bee pollen smoothies and barefoot, carpeted bathroom). Have fun with that parking.
If you want a short and sweet experience without the energy of exploring, Pine Street is a great mini-Portland greenhouse. Stay where it's warm, but get the food cart experience and pick from a variety of tasty foods and drinks.
If you're into history and have the time and transport. Do it!
We get some of the brightest and best exhibits coming through. See what's current and if it matches the inclinations of your peepers!
With multiple city locations, find some strange, overpriced, niche Portland paraphernalia.
