The Green-Wood Cemetery
Our #1 favorite place in New York. Judith once lived above a funeral home a block from here! The first garden cemetery in the US, you'll find gorgeous trees and plants, historic headstones, and wild parakeets. Boss Tweed, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Leonard Bernstein are buried here to just name a few. Enter through the Main 25th Street Entrance to get the full parakeet effect.
Brooklyn Botanic Garden
The smell from the rose garden in June will knock you back
Brooklyn Heights Promenade and Brooklyn Bridge Park
Have a stroll on The Promenade, then mosey down to Brooklyn Bridge Park. Fornino's Pizza is at the south end of Brooklyn Bridge Park where you can sit on their rooftop and watch the sunset. On the northern end is the Manhattan Bridge and DUMBO's cobblestone streets. In the park there's also summer outdoor movies, free kayaking during certain times, and a roller rink.
Industry City
Outdoor courtyards, shops, live music, restaurants all in one place. Check out their maps as it can be a bit confusing at first, but definitely worth a trip for some food, games, or wandering.
