Most flights (regardless of your departure city) will have a stop over. In most cases it will be Vancouver. We recommend that for friends and family that are travelling the long distance between Toronto and Maui that they stay a night in Vancouver, avoiding the (in most cases) 12 hour flight.
Hotels in Hawaii are typically more expensive on average. Danielle and I have used VRBO, Maui Beach Rentals and AirBnb a number of times. These would be our recommendations, especially for large groups. Check the ratings and comments before booking and you will have a good idea of what to expect.
There was, but it was so minimal, that we decided not to block off rooms. Because of the distance that most of our friends and family are travelling, we didn't feel it was worth the cost.
Yes. Maui isn't the largest island, but it's "major urban area's" are also fairly wide spread. From the airport to Kihea / Wailea (where the wedding will be hosted) it is between a 25-30 minute drive. If you are looking to explore and experience the island, it is highly recommended that you rent a car.
In November, the average temperature is about 24 degrees celsius. It rains on occasion, but typically in short bursts.
Of course! Maui is a beautiful island and there is something for everyone. The Rehearsal dinner is open to all of our guests. The Wedding Ceremony and Reception is adults only. However we have partnered with the Grand Wailea and identified a babysitting service (www.thenannyconnection.com) that comes highly recommended. You are also welcome to research alternative options.
We understand the cost to travel, the long journey and time off work may be too much for some. We have an online registry on this website for your convenience. Click Registry on the menu bar at the top of the page to access it.
