Places to check out: Saturday Market, Ex Novo Brewery, Blue Star Donut, Salt and Straw or Ruby Jewel ice cream, Japanese Garden, International Rose Test Garden, Portland Art Museum, Powell's City of Books, Smith's Tea for tea tasting, Forest Park, Pittock Mansion. Our favorite breakfast spots: Besaws, Off the Waffle on Clinton St., Tin Shed, Screen Door, Pips Original Donuts, Grain & Gristle.

Oregon Garden

A stunning, 80-acre botanical garden, featuring more than 20 specialty gardens showcasing the diverse botanical beauty of the Willamette Valley and the Pacific Northwest.

Frank Lloyd Wright Gordon House

Take a guided tour of the only house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in Oregon. We had make sure architecture was represented in our wedding recommendations!

Silver Falls Vineyards

The wine tasting room is open noon-5pm Sat and Sun.

Hiking

There are lots of great trails at the venue site and throughout the state park. Consider Trail of Ten Falls if you have the time!

Biking

A four-mile paved bike path starts from the overnight campground and follows Silver Creek to South Falls Lodge. Silver Falls Lodge & Conference Center offers complimentary use of mountain bikes for its guests.

Willamette Valley Vineyards

This vineyard is located in Salem and was named “The Best Vineyard/Tasting Room Experience” by Sunset Magazine. I heard it had a great view from the vineyard as well. Open daily 11am-6pm.

Opal Creek Trailhead

This is a beautiful hike in the summer that leads to Opal Pools (you can swim there). Definitely worth checking out if you have the time. It is located about 1.5 hrs from the venue.
