Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Most of the wedding will be outdoors, so plan for warmer weather (80's-90's and lows down to 60's at night). The ceremony taking place on grass and we will be eating dinner on picnic tables. We're going for dressy casual (who wants to wear a suit in the summer anyway?!)

Question

Will there be food and drinks served?

Answer

Of course! We have planned a cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony, which will serve beer, wine, and appetizers (open bar). This is followed by dinner and dancing. The bar may switch from an open bar to a cash bar towards the end of the evening, so please plan accordingly.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have reserved all cabins on site for our guests, so please help us fill them! The conference center would like us to assign rooms to the guests (so non-guests do not accidentally book rooms). We ask that you let us know if you would like us to hold a room for you. We will submit the list to Silver Falls staff and they will be able to see where you were assigned when you call to book your room. Cabins are $119-129 (divided 2-3 ways if you share a double or triple bed cabin with friends). If you are staying on-site the night of the wedding, check-in starts at 3pm.

Question

Will I have cell phone reception?

Answer

The only cell phone carrier with service in Oregon State parks is AT&T. Silver Falls Lodge & Conference Center does provide free Wifi.

Question

Can we bring our children?

Answer

We have decided to make this an adult-only celebration. We hope you understand and will enjoy the night off to let loose and have some fun!

Question

What time will the reception end?

Answer

The main event will end at 10pm, but I'm sure there will be an after-party! We have the entire property booked for our guests, so we can move out to the campfire for s'mores or one of the lodges to extend the evening festivities. Fortunately, you can stumble back to your cabin on-site when you feel like turning in.

Question

Can I take and/or post photos of your wedding on social media?

Answer

Dan and I aren't big social-media people... we would love for you to share in the moment with us. But if you do snap a great photo, we would love a copy! We may set up a group sharing app prior to the wedding, so look for an email on this at a later date.

Question

What transportation is available to get to the venue?

Answer

Please plan to book a rental car to get to the wedding if you are flying. There are not great alternative forms of transportation from PDX airport, and a taxi / uber would be very expensive. Consider carpooling with another guest if you prefer to not drive (we can help connect you with one). There is an airport in Salem, but it services local flights only.

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

There is plenty of parking at the venue, so no need to carpool unless you want company on the drive! There is a large parking lot to the left as soon as you pull into Silver Falls Cabins & Conference Center. Don't hesitate to flag down a staff member if you need any help. The ceremony and reception areas are a short walk from each other.

Question

Will I have to pay for parking?

Answer

Parking is free at the venue. If you would like to explore the rest of the park, there is a $5 day use parking fee that you can purchase at a kiosk at South Falls. If you plan to stay on-site in a cabin, the reservation will include a day use pass.
