We love your little ones, truly! But for this weekend, Michillinda Lodge will be adults-only on the property. You’re absolutely welcome to travel with your children and make arrangements nearby (hotel, sitter, family, campground, etc.), but no children will be allowed on the property during the wedding weekend. Think of it as the perfect excuse for a kid-free getaway — relax, sleep in, enjoy the open bar, and celebrate with us all weekend long.
If your invite includes a guest, their name will appear when you RSVP. We promise we’re not trying to be difficult — we’re just trying to keep the weekend intimate!
The vibe for the wedding is upscale / cocktail attire. We’d love for everyone to dress up and make it feel like a special occasion! Think: - Cocktail dresses - Dressy outfits - Suits or sport coats - Dress shirt paired with dress pants
Michillinda Lodge is the perfect mix of lakeside getaway + wedding weekend, so pack for both relaxing and celebrating. A few things we recommend bringing: - Wedding / cocktail attire - Comfortable shoes (grass, paths, and a little exploring) - Swimsuit for the beach or pool - Casual outfits for daytime hangouts - Light jacket or sweater for the evenings - Sunglasses & sunscreen - Sandals or comfy walking shoes Basically… pack like you’re headed to a fun lake weekend with a really great party in the middle of it.
Michillinda Lodge is stunning, but it does include grass, pathways, and natural terrain. Wear the shoes you feel most comfortable in that will allow you to navigate the terrain! The ceremony will be held on grass, cocktail hour will be on a mix of grass & hard ground!

In addition to the wedding ceremony and reception, we’ll be celebrating all weekend long with a few fun gatherings for our guests. More details and timing will be shared closer to the date, but the weekend will include opportunities to relax, spend time together, and enjoy the beauty of Michillinda Lodge. Events may include things like: - Slices & Sunsets on Friday Night - Coffee for our onsite guests Saturday morning - Hangouts on the bluff - Pickleball, Tennis, Shuffleboard, Volleyball, Cornhole, and more! - Bonfires - Lakeside fun We hope you’ll make a full weekend out of it with us!
Michillinda Lodge is intentionally a little unplugged. There are no TVs in the rooms and cell service can be spotty. It’s the perfect excuse to disconnect from the outside world for a bit. Relax, enjoy the lake, talk to people, have a drink, watch the sunset, and let loose. We promise the emails and notifications will still be there when you get back.
September on the west side of Michigan is STUNNING. However the weather can be a little unpredictable. It could be 80 and sunny or 65 & raining! Be ready to be flexible and be sure to check the weather before you leave. PS last year it was 75 and sunny on wedding day!!
Yes! Transportation will be available for guests staying at the Comfort Inn, making it easy to get to and from the celebration safely. The shuttle will make 2 trips before the ceremony and then run all night until the party ends! So if you party too hard and want to head back at 8pm - the shuttle will be available to take you back!
Yes! Michillinda Lodge has private beach access on Lake Michigan and a heated pool on the property. The heated pool is expected to be open but depending on the weather it may be closed, however the beach is always a great place to catch some waves. Don’t forget to pack that swimsuit!
