How We Met

Genevieve: Jordan and I met online, and I decided to meet up with him because his dating profile said he sang to his cat and I thought that was cute. (Spoiler Alert- he really does!) On our first date, we connected in a way that was completely unexpected. We had so much in common, and technically, Jordan asked me to marry him on that first date! (He claims that it was a "joke," however, and that it "doesn't count.") From that point on, we have had many wonderful adventures together! Jordan: When I first saw Genevieve's profile online, I thought that she was cute (and probably not too crazy), so I invited her to dinner. We stayed at the restaurant long into the night, until we were the last diners left and the servers began to sweep around our feet. Neither one of us wanted to say goodbye...

The Proposal

Jordan and I were performing in a production of Jane Eyre: The Musical together at the Everett Theatre in April 2023. I (Genevieve) was portraying Jane, and Jordan was playing Robert, the butler. After curtain call on our opening night, just as we were about to leave the stage, our friend Doug (who played Rochester) stepped forward and stated that there was one more matter of stage business to address before we left. I turned to Jordan, and saw him get down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was beaming through tears as I answered him, "YES!" The moment was so special to us, not only because we got engaged, but because we were able to share it with so many friends and family members. What a DREAM for the next step in our romance to begin after playing out one of the greatest romances of all time onstage! When I asked Jordan if he was nervous before he popped the question, he said, "No- I knew you would say yes!"

Our Inspiration

#BraveEnoughForLove

Our wedding is inspired by one of the greatest love stories of all time: Jane Eyre. Look for whimsical details and Victorian flare throughout our day that are reminiscent of the novel. Our wedding hashtag (#BraveEnoughForLove) is a lyric from the final song in Jane Eyre: The Musical, and is the last thing we sang together before Jordan proposed. Additionally, we know that it does take courage to love deeply and make the lifelong commitment that is forged in marriage. We invite you to share photos, stories, and memories from our special day using this hashtag.
