Flight
You can fly into either Chania or Heraklion Airport, but we recommend Chania because Heraklion Airport is almost 2 hours away from all wedding events. You can look for roundtrip flights to Chania or you can book your roundtrip flight to Athens and get separate flights to Crete which can be a lot cheaper. If coming from LAX, flying through both London and Turkey are routes that allow for just one stop total for the journey (LAX --> Connecting Country --> Chania). There are also ferries available to Crete from Athens, but be aware, they take several hours (9+). https://www.chq-airport.gr/en/ Chania Airport Code: CHQ Athens Airport Code: ATH
House Or Rental
AirBnB is a great place to find accommodations. There are many options across a variety of price points, number of beds, and location. The "VIEW" button will direct you to a guide of 25+ homes we loved and recommend across ALL of Chania. If you are not renting a car, you will want to keep aware of your distance to the town center for ease of access, however all AirBnBs linked below are within 30 minutes of our venue/town center. Separately, this link below is a list of AirBnB's that are all in the same sea village that we are staying in (Kalyves). If you'd like to be near us and the wedding shuttle pick-up/drop-off, we recommend staying in this beautiful location :) https://www.airbnb.com/wishlists/v/1581656956?s=67&unique_share_id=f5804301-99d3-4316-80d9-d8ddf287ac24 We also recommend renting with other wedding attendees!

Shuttle
June 27, 2025 5:00 pm
A shuttle has been arranged to pick all guests up from the village of Kalyves and one other location in Chania. Everyone who has RSVP'd "yes" to the shuttle has a designated spot. We will update this note as well as reach out to everyone to let them know the specific timing, pick-up location, and who is in their shuttle group. These shuttles will take guests to the church ceremony, and then from the reception back to the initial pick-up location at the end of the night. Leaving the reception, we are planning to have two different shuttle times taking people back to original meeting place (early and late). You may also taxi directly to the chapel (approximately 15 minutes from downtown Chania and 20 minutes from Kalyves). If taxiing, PLEASE schedule your ride in advance to ensure a timely arrival and beware the chapel is more difficult to find. More information to come*

Travel Note
PASSPORT If you have not traveled internationally recently, please ensure your passport is up to date. Most countries will not permit a traveler to enter their country if their passport is set to expire at least six months after the final day of travel. That means if your passport has less than six months remaining until the expiration date, you should renew it right away. You may renew your passport through the USPS: https://www.usps.com/international/passports.htm#renewbymail And online: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport/renew-online.html LUGGAGE TRACKING A travel hack we recommend is placing airtags or tracking devices in your suitcases. While it is hopefully unlikely your luggage does not arrive with you, it could be very beneficial to know exactly where your luggage is to track it down. WHAT NUMBER DO I DIAL IN CASE OF EMERGENCY? Police: 100 Ambulance: 166 Fire and Rescue: 199 European Union's universal emergency number: 112 (112 is the equivalent to 911 in the US) OTHER TIPS - Tipping is not expected or required. If you do wish to leave something, you can round up to the nearest Euro (that applies to any service or taxis). - Travel with cards that have no foreign transaction fee. - Travel with a power adapter. Greece uses plug types C and F. Greece operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz. - Make copies of important documents (driver's license, passport, etc.)
