February 15th 2025 was the deadline. If you RSVP status has changed for one or more events please reach out to Hannah and Brandon directly.
We are requesting that our guests wear Summer Formal to our wedding ceremony and reception. Think light but long formal gowns as well as lightweight suits. Bright colors are encouraged! Dress codes for all other events can be found in the "Schedule" section. We also recommend checking the temperature of Crete leading up to the trip. Highs tend to be around 85-90°F and lows around 65-70°F.
The answer is ultimately up to you, but we have a welcome event that Wednesday 6/25 and the rehearsal dinner on Thursday 6/26 (for wedding party and family) so we suggest to be in Chania from Wednesday the 25th up to Saturday the 28th at the least. We want you to make a vacation out of this, to really enjoy yourselves, and tour the island of Crete, especially for their amazing beaches!
We have put together a list of AirBnB and hotel accommodations in the "Travel & Accommodation" section on our website. I also built out a map which highlights where the wedding venue is and where we will be staying, in respect to the various regions of Chania. We'll be staying in the village of Kaylves which is right outside the city so if you'd like to be in the same region, we recommend opting for one of the AirBnBs or Hotels that are in Kaylves. This will also be where our wedding shuttle picks-up and drops-off will definitely be. We are working to secure an additional drop off/pick up location in Chania however we won't be able to do so until we know where a majority of the guests are staying so if you are interested please note your planned accommodation on the RSVP prompt. If you prefer to go with a different option, I would suggest to stay in or within 30 minutes of the city of Chania. Though Chania can be a bit busier than remote parts of the island, it will be your best option at getting some of the best food, going to the port/airport, access to highways that will take you all over Crete, as well as all the wedding events. As far as renting a car, it is recommended as Crete is the largest island in Greece and there are many beaches and sites to see all around the island. Please refer to the "Travel" section for details on car rentals or for suggested alternatives for getting around without car.
Both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. Feel free to checkout both locations to get an idea of the scenery. Venues linked on our "Schedule" tab.
The Uber app ONLY works in Athens, Thessaloniki, Santorini, and Corfu. On Crete, the Uber app does NOT work. You will need to call a local taxi if you are not renting a car. We have recommended taxi companies provided by our wedding planners on the "travel" tab of our website. You can also download the FREENOW App which operates like an Uber for taxis.
This is completely up to you, but we recommend purchasing tickets for peak season by January or early February of 2025 at the latest. Prices will only keep increasing the closer we get summer. Google Flights is a useful tool for tracking airline prices! Please see our "Travel Info" tab for more information and recommendations on booking flights.
Yes and our planners have provided us with a discount code for all hotels under Brown Hotel Group which includes destinations like Athens. To book the hotel visit: www.brownhotelseurope.com and use promo code ROYALBLUE.
We understand with it being a destination wedding that finding accommodations for your little ones can be hard, please confirm with us via our wedding email if you are interested in bringing your kids. brandonhannahwedding@gmail.com
No we will just be having our wedding in Greece, but we completely understand, with no explanation needed, if you are unable to attend. Regardless, your love & support means the world to us!
