Although Rocio and Brandon went to the same high school, their paths didn't cross until their last semester at NC State University. It was there at a New Years Eve party, after years of near misses, that they shared their first laughs among friends. They enjoyed a semester getting to know each other and intertwining their lives before graduation and the reality of life after college sunk in. Brandon accepted a job in BioTech in Boston while Rocio stayed in North Carolina for the summer and weighed her options. The couple couldn’t stay apart for long, and Rocio visited Boston for the first time in July of 2012. She was charmed with the architecture and history of this coastal town, so she made plans to join Brandon in New England that same fall. In the 8 years that followed, Ro and Brandon have traveled the world and created a life of love and adventure together. They have built a strong foundation of friends and created a home for themselves in Boston, while keeping ties to their roots in North Carolina, Puerto Rico, and beyond.

Brandon pulled off an amazing surprise proposal on the rooftops of Cartagena, Colombia in 2019 in Rocio’s native tongue, asking her at sunset, “Quieres casarte conmigo?”
