If there is one thing that people know about both Brandon and Laura, it's how important their friends are to them. Knowing that, it comes as no surprise that they were introduced by one of Brandon's best friends - Brit. Brit introduced Brandon as a kind, nerdy guy, and included a picture of Brandon loving on a dog. Of course, Brandon cuddling a pup got Laura's attention and she reached out to Brandon. They had their first date the second weekend in August, 2024 and they talked about everything from music to military history, about their favorite fantasy genres (and clicked over the fact that they are both huge nerds) and classic western movies. Laura immediately liked Brandon's smile while he immediately liked how easy and comfortable it was to talk to Laura about everything. As we continued dating, we both felt like we could be ourselves with each other - there was no pretense or pretending. Laura could also tell Brandon was an extremely caring and kind man, and he showed her that after her accident in 2025 when he literally stayed by her side every day. He helped her go through inpatient physical therapy, grilled her contraband steak to eat in the hospital, and even snuck the dogs in one day to cheer her up. Brandon could tell Laura cared and paid attention to the little things he said, like how he mentioned he wanted to see Shane Smith and The Saints in concert and surprised him with tickets to see them in Florida for his birthday. She also showed an interest in his nerdy hobbies and encouraged him to be himself by playing DnD with him and his friends and learning how to play video games with him. We have made such a sweet life together over the last two years. We go on adventures together, we laugh, we support one another, we do puzzles and crafts, we build Legos, we play video games together or Laura reads (Brandon has learned she's only high maintenance when it comes to books and cowboy boots), we go to concerts (almost one a month since we started dating - it's kind of our thing now), we cook, we cuddle our dogs Boo and Scout.... We can't wait to continue exploring, trying new things, and just do life together.
