FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

For INVITATIONS please RSVP by May 1st 2025 *we won't accept responses after May 21 2025*

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

This is a child free event, while we love you all, unless the child in your life was specified on your invite they are not invited. We'd like you all to ourselves this day! **note there are two "children" invited but they are 12+ and they are first cousins, it wouldn't be too fair if their older siblings got to come but they got left in a Home Alone situation (: **

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation did not specify a plus one then we would prefer if you didn't as we have to keep our numbers maintained. We obviously just want you to ourselves for the weekend as well.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

YES. We've made a powerpoint, we've done our research. If you need ideas, PLEASE check out the Travel page of our website, or message one of us for ideas! Note there are also many Air BnBs in the area. Great option to split with a few people! *Also please try not to book somewhere with more room then you need, we have roughly 120 people coming and need to find everyone a spot! Note this is a very small town!

Question

Tell me about the bar situation...

Answer

There will be NO bar. This event is BYOB. Please plan accordingly. We will provide some non-alcoholic beverages and mixes for your drinks as well as some bottles of white and red wine at each table. For the ceremony we will also provide a celebratory beer or seltzer!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Guests may begin arriving at 12:15pm. Please arrive no later than 12:50pm as the ceremony will begin at 1:00pm

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

YES. Casual Garden Party. Ideas include, sundresses, preferably not too long as you'll be on grass all day, jumpers, formal shorts and nice blouses, flats or sandals or wedges if you want some height, but nothing stiletto. You're going to want to be comfortable enough to play lawn games in whatever you choose! **Please NO jeans or proper suits and ties or overly white/ivory clothing** Also PLEASE bring some warmer clothes for when it gets later at night as we are not sure if we will have heaters and the nights can get to around 0-10 degrees in this area in June still

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Message us when we send out the formal invitations and if your allergy is not listed or you have multiple, let us know.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There is no transportation to the event. At the end of the night from 10pm-midnight we will have a shuttle taking people back to their accommodations if you are within the suburb area that our venue is located, the Upper Shunda Creek campground, or within the town of Nordegg (ie. the hotel). If you are outside this zone ie. Gold Lake or Fish Lake Campground let us know and we will set aside specific times to transport you home. Farther than this we cannot accommodate you. *Note this is a rural area, do not expect to find an Uber or Taxi*

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

The venue also has a parking lot with an attendant, but we highly encourage people to walk if staying close by as the parking is limited.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

GIFTS NOT NECESSARY. If you do want to get a gift we insist on nothing material (our house is small and Sam's a crafter and Brae's a builder anyways), please consider contributing to our honeymoon fund instead.
