How We Met

"One night stands & long term housing plans".

In a stunning feat of millennial might & sensibility, Brady and Susy met through a hook-up app. Tinder. "GROSS!" I hear you say. Yes. Yes it was. Both had just recently moved to Los Angeles. Susy was fighting for survival in what could only be described as a collegic thunderdome style apartment complex, on loan from Syracuse University as she finished her degree in cinematography & film-making. Brady was sweating in various studios across Los Angeles, back in la-la land for the umpteenth time pursing musical ventures. Absolutely no one would have guessed it, but our players were present and the stage was set for love. One date is all it took. Over all-you-can-eat sushi and ramen, Brady was frantically pressing his brain on how he could ask this stranger to move in with him & never leave his side. Susy was also head over heels. A genuine "when you know, you know" moment that she had always thought was fantasy. Conviently, she also really really needed a place to live. Brady did not find out about that aspect of their timely shacking up until years later. He was quoted as saying "I am not surprised". One night turned into ten, ten into a hundred, a hundred into years. Fate has a funny way of putting it's thumb on the scale when you least expect it.

Favorite Memories

"Rock, Paper, Animal Fries".

Susy & Brady do a lot of things together. Some might say too much. From starting a clothing company, writing and recording songs for their band, touring the country and surviving cancer; the list is long and exhausting to look at. But as we all know: from humble beginnings come great things. For the first year of their relationship, Brady had a second job as a delivery driver to make ends meet. On days he wasn't in the studio, he'd drive around from sunrise to sunset delivering food and various packages that probably had drugs in them to Angelinos across the valley. After Susy had finished her long day of interning at film studios, he would pick her up and the two would spend countless evenings driving across LA as a sort of Bonnie & Clyde duo that was sponsored by Postmates. They'd watch movies & Netflix shows in empty parking lots waiting on the next order, eat entirely too much In-N-Out, and explore an unfamiliar city that had given them a beautiful opportunity at happiness. But most importantly, as time worn on, realizing that their love needed nothing more than the two of them in a car watching the streetlights pass.

The Proposal

“You may have the world if I may have Italy”

Throughout their years together, Brady and Susy have traveled extensively - always chasing a new horizon. Even after having visited most of the USA together on various road trips - as well as London and Paris - Brady knew that the place where her eyes shone the brightest was Florence, Italy. Not because he was instructed under any threatening circumstance, but because he KNEW. Love transcends language. A 2 week tour of the country came to reality, and the two set off for the land of pizza & wine. Knowing it was her wish to share her favorite city with her favorite person, Brady resolved to propose in a manner surpassing even her wildest dreams. On a bright and clear day in September, Brady led Susy up the stairs to the Piazzale Michelangelo which overlooked the city. Timing it perfectly with the setting sun, Susy cast her gaze over to the Duomo in the distance only to glance back and see Brady on one knee. He had not tripped and fallen, though the jury is still out on that. However, he did have a ring on him. So it all worked out in the end and we shouldn't dwell on it. As though that were not magical enough, a photographer/videographer team immediately jumped out of the bushes and let Susy know that every bit of complaining she did up the thousands of stairs was caught on camera and audio. Brady - always going the extra mile - had sprung for a hidden lappel mic upgrade in the photography package he had purchased. Not one second of that audio can ever be shared with anyone. It's sitting in a Google Drive folder he named "proposal audio >:(" that he only opens and listens to on nights when he needs humbled. It was worth every penny.
