Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding and ceremony will take place in an event tent in the woods, so please dress appropriately for the weather and outdoors. We will be having a fire later in the night and encourage anyone planning on staying to bring a comfy change of clothes. We will have bug spray on hand!

Question

Are you allowing children?

Answer

While we love everyone's little ones, we are sorry that we can not accommodate all children at our wedding. We are allowing family to bring children as we understand many of your "go to" babysitters will also be in attendance. Your RSVPs include your children, please select whether they will be attending or not when you RSVP for yourself and provide their ages for catering purposes.

Question

Are you concerned about COVID? What about restrictions?

Answer

Your health and safety is important to us, and we want all of our guests to feel safe and comfortable celebrating with us! At this time we are optimistic that a 'new, more normal' normal is around the corner as cases go down and vaccines become more accessible! As precautions, we are planning on taking the following measures: 1. We will be outside in the woods, which should allow for more room and distancing 2. Our buffet dinner will be served by the caterer, not self-serve 3. Most of the beverages will be prepackaged 4. The dessert comes as a single serving and will be packaged 5. Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be readily available 6. We will assess mask recommendations as the date approaches, but we encourage anyone who feels more comfortable wearing a mask to do so We are considering a Zoom meeting of our ceremony for those unable to attend. If you RSVP no and are interested in this, please let us know so we can keep you updated and provide the access URL.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Our ceremony and reception will take place at Brooke's parents. Parking will be at their home, 6767 Hiner Road Wooster, OH 44691 and the woods will be located 300 yards west down Hiner Road (first woods on the right after the field). You should be able to see the large white event tent. If you're not familiar with rural Wayne County, we promise you're not in Deliverance. Google or Apple should be able to find the address and cell service shouldn't be an issue.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Music will begin at 4:00 PM with the Ceremony at 4:30, we recommend that you plan to arrive 30 - 45 minutes before music begins so you have time to park, mingle and to make sure everyone is on time. We want to make sure we get the party started as scheduled!

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

Once the ceremony finishes, the bride and groom will wrap up photos nearby. Since everything is in the same location, cocktail hour will be from 5 - 6 PM. Dinner will begin around 6 PM.

Question

Will there be food and drinks at the reception? What if I have a dietary concern?

Answer

We will be serving dinner around 6 - 6:30 PM with dessert to follow. Later in the evening we will have hot dogs and s'mores to roast over a fire. We will be providing an open bar as well as non-alcoholic beverages.

Question

Please indicate if you have dietary restrictions or concerns on your RSVP or contact Brooke or Jordan to discuss. Menu: -Roll with Butter -Apple Pecan Salad -Bruschetta Stuffed Chicken -Fig Dijon Pork Tenderloin -Roasted Red Pepper Penne Pasta -Roasted Italian Red Skin Potatoes -Fresh Grilled Veggies

Question

Can I take pictures and post them on social media?

Answer

We ask that you please don't take photos during our ceremony. We've hired photographers and videographers to capture the big moment, and want you to sit back and enjoy! Once we're pronounced Mr. and Mrs., we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #theressomethingaboutmendy so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

Question

What if I'm coming from out of town? Are there places to stay?

Answer

We're happy you're able to travel to celebrate with us! If you visit the Travel page, we have included information on hotels and convenient airports. We do have a block of rooms reserved for both Friday and Saturday night at The Best Western in downtown Wooster, approximately 10 miles from the venue. We've also provided additional lodging options on the page in case you prefer something else. If you're unfamiliar with the area and have any questions, please contact Brooke or Jordan and we're happy to assist!
