Bonnie and Stephen first met in 2014. Not at a bar, or a friend’s party. No, they met online. While normal for many couples today, it still felt a bit taboo at the time. They used a dating app called “OKCupid.” They were only on the app for less than a week when they matched with one another. While the chemistry was clearly there, Bonnie rejected Stephen the first time he asked her out on a date. She was still skeptical of meeting someone that she had only spoken to online, understandably so. However, the more they talked, the more she hoped he'd ask her once more! Her wish came true on June 6, 2014, when Stephen asked her to dinner for the second time. Stephen is a persistent guy - you didn't think he'd give up that easily, right? They met at Mi Piace, an Italian restaurant in downtown Pasadena. The connection was strong and the conversation was easy - their date lasted hours, but felt like minutes. They talked about family, hobbies, aspirations...everything! In fact, they were so deep into conversation that they didn't realize the restaurant was closing and they were the last ones left in the room. The night came and went, but it was just the start of a special journey together.
