Lake Tahoe is over 6,000 feet in elevation. This may be a big change for some guests that are not used to this high of an elevation. If you go skiing, some peaks around Lake Tahoe can be up to 8,000 feet. To prevent altitude sickness, be sure to climb slowly whether driving or walking. Drink plenty of water, and actually eat plenty of carbs. This can really help. Take it easy and if you feel sick, stop what you are doing and take a break. Most people adjust to the altitude in less than a day.
