Chris and Lauren's relationship has many mutual interests, but one of the most loved is skiing in beautiful places. During the early stages of dating, Lauren invited Chris to try his hand at skiing for the first time in one of California's most gorgeous places, Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe, California. As their love grew, their love for this special place and its place in their relationship did as well. It seemed only fitting to start this new chapter of their lives together in one of their most beloved places. In an effort to also share their special day with family and friends on the East Coast, there will be two receptions close to both of their hometowns in New York and Pennsylvania in the summer of 2020. The happy couple looks forward to celebrating with all the special people in their lives in 2020 and is so grateful for all the love and support they have had over the years.
Chris and Lauren made the big decision to move to Minnesota in 2017, and took on this new journey together. After living in Minnesota for a year and a half, Chris decided it was time to propose. After months of agonizing over ring choices with their friends, Shane and Laura, to find the perfect ring for Lauren; Chris finally felt like he had found the perfect choice. Now, he just had to figure out where to pop the question. Lauren's home state of New York is known for beautiful waterfalls and serene hiking trails. Chris hoped to recreate that in an iconic place in their new home of Minnesota. With the help of friend Shane, he settled for iconic Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis, MN. Chris convinced Lauren to take their two dogs hiking in the woods surrounding the beautiful falls. His original plan was to ask Lauren at the base of the stunning falls, however it was Mother's Day. The falls were packed with people everywhere. This wasn't exactly what Chris wanted with people everywhere, he instead wanted a quiet intimate moment alone with Lauren. They continued to walk through the woods down towards the Mississippi River with the dogs away from the crowds by the falls. Just before reaching the gorgeous river bank, Chris took the ring out of his pocket and in a way only Chris could do quickly asked Lauren to marry him. She excitedly put on the ring and gave him a hug and a kiss. She was so excited and surprised, she forgot to even say the word, "yes!". They finished a wonderful walk through the woods to the river, and after their walk, and of course contacting their families had a surprise picnic with their friend Shane in the park with cheese, chocolate, and champagne.
