As we’re working with a very limited capacity, we kindly ask that you RSVP as soon as you’re able. It will help us plan and make any necessary adjustments ahead of the big day. If you’re unable to join us, please know how much you’ll be missed, but we completely understand. We know Marquette is quite a journey for many of our friends and family, and we truly won’t take it personally. We'd like to have all RSVPs submitted by August 10th as a deadline. Thank you in advance!
If you received a plus one, it will be on your wedding invite and will appear under your name when you RSVP. Otherwise, we would love to keep the wedding an intimate event with family and close friends. Unfortunately, we are limited with capacity at our venue.
We love your little ones! However, we are keeping this an adult only event. We encourage you to use this as a little getaway!
We’re celebrating in a slightly untraditional way! We want to truly soak in every moment with the people we love. We’ll be having an intimate ceremony the day before with just our immediate family and bridal parties, so the following day can be completely unrushed. Spent celebrating and savoring every minute with our loved ones. That celebration will take place at Raging River Resort! We’re so excited to share that time with you.
Check out our "Travel" page on this site for more information on glamping/campsite blocks and hotel blocks!
We have a Schedule page available for you to explore! We’re hoping for a very Mamma Mia!–inspired weekend. Relaxed, joyful, and full of love. We encourage you to enjoy some classic UP activities while you’re here, but most of all, we can’t wait to soak up this special time with our favorite people.
Yes, there is a designated parking lot at our venue that will be available for guests.
Our celebration will take place outside in the beauty of the UP! We will of course, have a tent just in case of weather but please be prepared for weather between 45-80 degrees.
For the day of the celebration, wear whatever you’re comfortable in! Keep an eye on the weather a few days before the wedding, as September can be chilly up here, though the past few have been surprisingly warm. We recommend packing layers for the weekend and bringing a rain jacket just in case. For the evening, we’re suggesting semi-formal/casual attire. A light coat would be a good idea to bring, and we recommend avoiding high heels. The venue has a dirt/gravel floor and is set in a forest-type area, so keep that in mind when choosing your shoes.
There is quite a bit of parking at the resort which you are welcome to use to park. If you're choosing to stay outside the resort for the night, that's completely fine. You're welcome to leave your car in the resort parking lot but we would strongly suggest finding ride solutions early on for the night. While Marquette is the biggest city in the UP, we are still extremely lacking in ride shares. I believe we have ONE Lyft. Haha. If you can't find ride solutions ahead of time, you can also call the Checker Cab service at (906) 226-7777. Please be aware that there may be long wait times if you use this service!
We are doing a beer and wine bar due to the fact that many of our family and friends don't drink at all. To those who do, we hope you're ready to party with us!
The nearest airport is in Gwinn, MI. It's about a 35 minute drive from downtown Marquette. Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport! Another option would be the Escanaba airport, which is about an hour away but I would check both for the most affordable rates.
Pasties (pronounced PASS-tees) are iconic, portable, hand-held savory pies originating from the UP 19th-century Cornish mining culture. They consist of a flaky crust filled with diced or ground beef, potatoes, onions, and often rutabaga, traditionally baked until golden. And yes, you should at least TRY one! To answer the side question-that's tough. A true born and bred Yooper would say Ketchup. However, Jake and I were born trolls and we enjoy it best with gravy. If you like gravy better… you may want to keep that information classified up here.
