Bailey had just moved back from Alaska to Petoskey and was focused on life (definitely not on dating) when she ran into Jake on the Bear River trail. She was holding a struggling little mouse in a pad (long story) and waved from afar. Jake knew Bailey's best friend and roommate Ansje because she was connected to his step brother. They caught up and Jake ended up asking if they wanted to hang out with him and a friend later. The rest is history. That summer was full of laughs, beach trips, Mackinac Island adventures, and sunsets from the back of Bailey’s car. When Bailey went back to school, 3.5 hours of long-distance couldn’t stop them. Jake drove up almost every weekend, through snowstorms, just to see her in Marquette. After a year, they moved in together, welcomed their wiggle-butt dog JoNancy, and have spent every season (yes, even winter) exploring, fishing, camping, and trying new things in the Upper Peninsula. They can’t wait to celebrate their love with all of you in Marquette, and they hope you find the magic in Lake Superior and the Upper Peninsula just as much as they do. Every person here has played a part in their journey, and they wouldn’t be here without you.
