A Note on Accommodation
We encourage guests who are interested in the room block at the Tailwater to book as soon as possible. If our room block becomes full, the hotel may expand the block, but only if there are still rooms available at the hotel. Please note there is a flexible cancellation policy and room costs are not charged until departure. Please note rooms are also relatively large, for those interested in sharing. There are other lodges in Altmar, but please be aware many of these are rustic and cater to people fly-fishing in the area. There are also several nice Airbnbs. We've included another hotel recommendation for anyone looking for an alternative to the Tailwater. Please note, if you are not staying at the Tailwater, please plan to have a designated driver. Rideshares are not a reliable option in this area.

This is the hub of our wedding! Ceremony, reception, and all other events will be happening here. We have a room block for the night of Friday, July 17 at the Tailwater Lodge. Here's instructions on booking a room: 1. Go to www.tailwaterlodge.com 2. Click Book Now (upper right corner) 3. Edit Arrival/Departure dates (July 17-18, 2026) 4. Number of rooms/guests 5. Click Special Rates button 6. Insert Group Code: BIUBU 7. Click Update 8. The Group Rate of $239/$249 per night will appear for reservations. Guests must reserve the room with a credit card. A card will be authorized upon arrival for the full amount, plus incidentals and will not get charged until day of departure. *All rooms must be booked by JUNE 17, 2026 to receive the block rate.* Guests can also call the hotel direct at (315) 298-3434 and give the agent the Group Code (BIUBU). Guest check-in is 3:00pm and guest check-out is 11:00am. For those looking for an alternative hotel, this Holiday Inn Express is about 30 minutes from the Tailwater Lodge. Please note we do not have a room block here.

Syracuse airport is the closest airport to the Tailwater Lodge (~35 minutes by car).
Rental Car

For those flying in, please note we recommend renting a car to get to the hotel and to get around the area. Rideshares are not reliable. If transportation to/from the venue is challenging, please reach out to Anna/Mike and we may be able to provide some assistance.

Camping
There are several campsites in the area for those who enjoy camping and/or have a camper. State Parks are generally reliable options - Selkirk Shores State Park and Sandy Island Beach State Park are both close by.
