You are welcome to bring your children, whether babies or older. If your child is old enough to need a meal and/or a seat, please add them as an additional guest when you RSVP. We can also provide babysitter recommendations (contact Laura) if you would prefer to have an adults' night out.
Attire for the wedding is creative cocktail. So cocktail attire, but if you're wondering whether your sequins are too shiny or your neon tie is too bright, they're not. If you know Laura, you know she has a soft spot for bright colors - so we'd love for our guests to have some fun getting dressed! But if your LBD is calling your name, that's fine too. Friday night drinks & Sunday brunch are casual.
We think the best option is probably a cab or lyft. Public transit is a little tricky from most of the locations where we expect people will stay -- buses that are convenient to the venue are Halsted #8 (north/south) and Cermak #21 (east/west). There is a parking lot if you prefer to drive (though it is not overnight parking!).
Lacuna has a north and a south entrance - you can use either, but the north entrance will be easier. The north entrance is inside a parking lot, which you access from Canalport. If you are driving, this is the lot you should be parking in. Once you are inside, you can get to the roof by taking an elevator to the fifth floor. The ceremony & reception are at the Blank Canvas Gallery, which is on the third floor. Please be aware there is a second wedding in the building the same night.
If it is cold, we will likely still be on the rooftop. Please don't be shy about wearing whatever outerwear you need! If it is too cold for you, and you don't want to be outside, please feel free to skip the welcome hour and join us when the ceremony begins. If it is raining, we will probably move the welcome hour inside. There will be signs in the building to tell you where we are.
