Question

Tell me more about the venue

Answer

The venue is in Curt Gowdy State Park and is about 30 minutes from Laramie and Cheyenne. Google Maps "Hynd's Lodge" or "Curt Gowdy Amphitheater" will get you to the right place. You can also use this link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RjsAcwCwMJSzbH6T9 The seating for the amphitheater/ceremony is uncovered benches in a semi-forested clearing. The reception will primarily take place in a large tent next to the lodge itself. The lodge will primarily be used by the caterers, but will be open for use. There are plumbed bathrooms with sinks inside the lodge and pit toilets on the grounds. If you plan to drive, please purchase a day use pass. If you plan to stay at the venue, please pay the camping fee. You can do so online at reserve.wyoming.gov, by calling 877-WYO-PARK, or at the Curt Gowdy visitor's center across the road from the venue (about 5 minute drive, open 9am-7pm on Saturday).

Question

What else should I know?

Answer

Laramie is at 7,200 feet and the venue at roughly 8000. Please hydrate, be prepared for physical activity to make you surprisingly out of breath, and be aware that you may become intoxicated more quickly. The sun is also much more intense way up here, so bring and wear high quality sunscreen and consider covering up with hats, sun hoodies, etc. Laramie spring is full of surprises. Be prepared for a full range weather conditions. Because we are at elevation, it gets surprisingly cold at night and in the shade even if it is warm during the day and in the sun. Laramie is rural and the venue is out of town. Don't count on rideshare apps in town (but know that wherever you are, you are probably only a couple miles from what you need) and don't count on cell phone service at the venue.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

No. If you'd like to give us a gift beyond your presence, love and support at the wedding and throughout our lives, please consider sharing a favorite recipe or two, whether it's grandma's secret cookies, a go-to dinner for a busy weeknight, or something special you make to impress guests. You know how much we love food.
