Where's this silly castle you guys decided to go get married in?

Answer

Markree Castle. It's just Southeast of Sligo, which is on the Northwest coast of Ireland. Don't worry, it's an easy 2.5 hour drive from the Dublin airport.

How long do I have to think about joining you in Ireland?

Answer

A week! No, really...we understand traveling internationally right now is not really a big priority for a lot of people but we need to have a final headcount by August 1st. So relax, stay healthy and let us know as soon as you can!

Can you sleep at the castle?

Answer

Yes, princess, you may... we've booked the whole castle for for exclusive use the nights of September 6th and 7th. A total of 30 bedrooms are available at a reduced rate of €180 ($203.15 when I wrote this) per night but we think they will fill up fairly quickly. If you'd like a room in the castle please email Anthony or Rachael a snapshot of your flight in so we can be fair about first come first serve. There are additional on-site cabins that can be booked and are just a few minutes walk from the castle. If the rooms in the castle fill up completely or you prefer to stay in a cabin please let us know. If those fill up we've linked a few hotels under the travel tab that are within a 15 minute drive.

What airport should I fly in to?

Answer

Dublin airport. It's actually a beautiful airport and relatively easy to navigate. Aer Lingus has a ton of direct flights to the US. https://www.dublinairport.com/ https://www.aerlingus.com/

Should we rent a car? Is there Uber?

Answer

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

No, Sligo (The nearest big(ish) town) is about 3 hours drive from Dublin, where we expect most people to fly in. We would suggest renting a car and drive while in Ireland. Roads are really easy to navigate but be sure to request an automatic vehicle if you cant drive manual! If you're coming solo or not comfortable driving please let us know! There are groups coming that may have room in their vehicles.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes, there's a list of events at the castle on the 6th and 7th under the schedule tab. We'll be all over Ireland from September 5-13 and posting an itinerary shortly if you'd like to join us anywhere.

Heck yes we do! We're hoping everyone who decides to make the trip can join us at every event. If not, that's cool too. You've got options!

Will I need some cash (Euros) for anything at the castle?

Answer

Depends on how thirsty you are! All the meals and most of the drinks are covered. The open bar on the wedding night turns into a cash bar at 2am or whenever the pre-purchased booze runs out.
