Question

Why Estes Park?

Answer

We get it. It’s a big ask to travel all the way to the mountains for a wedding—but Estes Park is one of our favorite places on the planet, and we just couldn’t imagine saying “I do” anywhere else. Nick grew up coming to Estes with his mom, JoAnn, Aunt Kathy, and other special family members. He introduced Billie to its magic early in the relationship, and since then, we’ve returned in every season—with friends, with family, with climbing shoes, hiking boots, and books to read by the river. It’s where we’ve found so much joy, peace, and adventure together—and now, we get to share it with all of you.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the ceremony?

Answer

While Estes Park does have Uber, the app usually has less available cars and longer wait times. To help alleviate any issues, we have an optional shuttle picking guests up from the Stanley Hotel, prior to the ceremony (see the “Schedule” page for exact times). After the ceremony, shuttles will take everyone to the reception site. At the end of the night, taxis will be available to take you back to your accommodations.

Question

Can we drive to the wedding?

Answer

Yes! There are a limited number of parking spots available at both the ceremony and reception venues. If you plan to drive, just let us know in advance so we can ensure there is space for you. Thanks!

Question

Should we expect an outdoor wedding?

Answer

We want everyone to soak in the beautiful Rocky Mountain views, so all events will be held outdoors (weather permitting)! The reception will take place under a large tent with flooring, so you’ll still be covered and comfortable no matter the weather. That being said, the brief walk to the ceremony spot includes a slight incline and natural terrain, so we recommend wearing flat shoes/block heels during this time. Once we’re at the reception, feel free to switch into your favorite dancing shoes or heels!

Question

Is adjusting to the altitude really a "thing" in Estes Park?

Answer

Estes Park sits at over 7,500 feet above sea level, so the altitude can definitely sneak up on you Midwesterners! You might feel a bit winded more quickly on hikes, and alcoholic drinks might feel stronger than they do at lower elevations. We recommend staying well-hydrated, taking it easy on your first few outdoor adventures, and pacing yourself while celebrating. Your body (and late-night dance moves) will thank you. ◡̈
