FAQs

Question

what time should i arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

We request that people arrive at the venue between 5:00pm and 5:15pm on Saturday to ensure the ceremony can begin promptly at 5:30pm.

Question

what is the dress code?

Answer

We are hoping for warm summer weather, so feel free to dress in your summer best! Cocktail dresses, sundresses, jumpsuits, light suits and ties, etc. are all acceptable attire. Be comfortable. Be colorful. And most importantly, be ready to dance.

Question

will the event take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Assuming we have beautiful weather, the ceremony will take place outdoors on a stone and gravel patio (no grass). Cocktail hour will be indoor/outdoor with the option for guests to hang out on the deck overlooking the water. The reception will take place indoors. In the event of inclement weather, all activities will take place indoors.

Question

how do i get to the wedding? will transportation be provided?

Answer

Transportation from the Danfords and Hilton Garden Inn hotels will be provided to the wedding and back. If you are not staying at a hotel, but do not wish to drive, there are LIRR train stations nearby where you can take an Uber or Lyft to the venue. If you are driving, parking will be provided with valet service at the venue.

Question

are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

As much as we love all the children in our lives, we have chosen to keep the wedding a child-free event. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

Question

what if i have dietary restrictions/allergies?

Answer

There will be a variety of food options for all palettes and diets, including vegetarian dinner options. If you have a specific concern, please reach out to the bride and groom and we will work to accommodate.

Question

what if i need a hotel room for more than one night?

Answer

The room block at the Hilton Garden Inn in Stony Brook is for Saturday night, only. However, you can request an extended stay for the standard rate (you will still pay the room block rate for Saturday night). If this option does not work for you, please contact the bride and groom and we can discuss alternative options.

Question

is there a registry?

Answer

We have chosen not to register for the wedding.

Question

what is the wedding hashtag?

Answer

#DontMandIfIDo
