We met in February of 2014 as we sat down in a classroom on campus for our first Theta Tau pledge class meeting. We were both pledging the same co-ed professional engineering fraternity. First we were brothers (of the same fraternity)! Then we were cousins (my "Big" and his "Big" are twins)! Over the next couple of years we became close friends. When we weren't kicking butt tossing ping pong balls into red solo cups on the weekends, we could be found playing basketball at the campus gym, walking the riverwalk, studying in 1D29, or attending some other social event. Come April of 2016, around Katie's graduation, we started "talking", as the kids are calling it these days. Our first date involved unclogging Robert's Granddad's pond pump. Weird, huh? But it worked out. Then we were dating! Katie moved to Charleston, and a year later after his graduation, Robert did too. We've joyfully lived in Charleston for nearly three years now. In April of 2019, Robert proposed to Katie in her garden after distracting her with tomato plants he purchased on his way back from a work trip to Hilton Head. She had just pulled in the driveway, arriving home from a 9-hour solo drive from Maryland. Then (and now) we're engaged! Nowadays, we spend most of our time in the sun, hanging out with Ollie and Daisy, playing volleyball, and growing more fun together. If you haven't heard, Robert has also taken to woodworking (check out Bert's Woodwork!), so be sure to keep an eye out on Facebook and at our wedding (!) for some handcrafted masterpieces! We are so grateful for our families for providing us with never-ending opportunities throughout our lives, some of which ultimately landed us in that same classroom in February of 2014. Thanks also to all of our friends who have constantly supported us along the way, making us better each and every day. Thank you ALL for shaping us into who we are today - you are just as much a part of our story as we are! We love you! XOXO Katie + Robert
