6.04.23: The First Day 2.13.26: The Yes Day 10.24.26: The Best Day Kevin and I met the traditional 2023 way: online. Our first date was at Ancho & Agave to have a margarita and thanks to some first date nerves, the chips and salsa went untouched. There was an instant connection sharing stories from our respective time at UW-Whitewater, common interests in golf and traveling, and Kevin’s curiosity about my winter sport of curling. Within the first few weeks, Kevin took me to Summerfest to see Eric Church and the rest is history. We have brought our shared love of travel to life visiting New Orleans, Jamaica, Arizona, Costa Rica, Texas, Cabo, and Seattle together. We spend many weekends preparing for our competition barbecue team, where Kona BBQ has taken 1st place at the Lodi Brew-B-Que two years in a row! When Kevin is not trying to convince me we need another smoker, we keep our competitive spirits alive. I persuaded Kevin to join my curling team and he has helped me shave a few strokes off my golf game. Early on, I was thrilled to know Kevin had a dog and I instantly fell in love with Kona. Kona has successfully trained me to give her plenty of treats and refers to me as “walk lady,” to ensure she gets her stroll around the neighborhood; and lets me know when we are behind schedule. One of our favorite summer traditions is heading to the Wisconsin Dells to play a round of mini golf at Pirate’s Cove. Kevin currently holds a commanding 3–0 lead and makes sure to remind me each year. We officially started dating after our first Pirate’s Cove outing—and have had many Dells dates since. On our last adventure, Kevin proposed to me on Lover’s Beach by the Cabo Arches; it was perfect. Thank you for being part of our story. We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
