We met through a friend at an apple orchard, and as the night went on, we realized the plethora of things we had in common with one another. We didn't think much of it at the time, but we knew we enjoyed each other's company. Throughout the next couple years, we continued to hang out sporadically. We really only saw each other a few times a year, but every time we got together, the night was filled with laughter. In fall of 2019, we started talking more and he eventually invited me to a small party at his friend's house. Though the night began with purely platonic intentions, it was only a matter of time until we realized how perfect we were for one another. It was that night, in that house, that we shared our first kiss. Over the next year and a half, we fell in love and continued to learn just how perfectly we fit together.
While laying in bed one night, watching Adventure Time together, I started teasing Sebastian about when he was going to pop the question. He had told me a few months earlier that he'd bought my ring, so I was just in painful suspense, waiting for it to get placed on my finger. He mentioned that he was trying to plan something spectacular, but I told him that I didn't need a grandiose proposal. He said, "All right. If you can find it, you can have it." This was the day that we learned that I am the worst at scavenger hunts. I must've spent an hour searching the house, asking for hints, and ultimately getting frustrated at my inability to find the ring. Finally, out of pity for my frustration, Sebastian led me around the house, asking, "Did you check here?" and pulling an imaginary ring box out of random places--until he led me into the office. He pulled the Brilliant Earth box down off of the top shelf of the closet, looked at me and said, "So, will you?" And obviously, I said yes.
