We recommend taking a walk around our alma mater, an absolutely stunning campus. Enjoy the gothic architecture and re-trace our footsteps as students! The Broadhead Center is open all summer, and offers wonderful food and coffee options right off the main Abele quad.
The Duke Gardens are a must-see! They are absolutely beautiful any time of year, and are located within a walking distance from the heart of Duke's main campus. There is also parking available, and a very cute garden store. We recommend visiting the Asiatic Gardens and Meyer Bridge.
This is where we had our second date! The Nasher is a stellar museum featuring exhibits from Greco-Roman antiquity to modern art. This is another must-see! It is free for all visitors. There is also a brunch cafe (open from 10am-2pm on Saturdays and 12pm-2pm on Sundays) in the Nasher that is delicious - if you would like to go however, they do require reservations about two weeks in advance.
Take a stroll down 9th Street where there are cute shops and restaurants!
This is a cute shopping plaza with independent bookstores, a stationary store, a homeware store, and a wonderful Mexican restaurant named Fonda Lupita—they have amazing tacos. There is also a Jeni's Ice Cream right across the street.
A wonderful state park for walking and running, with the Eno River as your backdrop!
This trail surrounds the Washington Duke Inn, and is a great 3 mile walk or run.
