The dress code is formal since we are getting married in a historic chapel—but we want you to also be comfortable! Think "church clothes" or anything that will make you feel your best. Wear shoes you can dance in! It does get toasty in the summer in Durham, and this is good to keep in mind when choosing what to wear. We care more about having you join us than what you wear (although we know you will all look beautiful and handsome).
You can RSVP online by clicking the RSVP tab, and entering your name in the box! Alternatively, if you would like to be mailed an RSVP card or RSVP to us directly, please email us at allieben.spencer@gmail.com. If you experience technical difficulties entering your name on the RSVP tab, we recommend just searching for your first name.
We kindly request you RSVP by April 1st for us to notify our catering team!
Doors will open at 3:15pm and the ceremony will start promptly at 4:00pm.
Yes, we will have a card box at our reception if you would like to honor us with a card. We are so grateful!
Yes and yes! Parking for the ceremony at the Duke Chapel will be in the Bryan Center Surface lot, and Bryan center garage. Parking in the Bryan Center lot is free for wedding guests, however there are limited spaces so we recommend arriving early for one of these spots. There is a lot of parking spaces available at the Bryan Center Garage (located next to the Bryan Center Surface lot), where parking is $2.00/hour. Parking at the Washington Duke Inn is abundant and free!
There are two ways! The first is you can drive from the Bryan Center Surface lot or Garage (or other on-campus parking) to the Washington Duke Inn after the ceremony. Alternatively, it is only a lovely 15-20 minute (mostly flat and downhill) walk through campus from the Chapel to the Washington Duke Inn (you can re-trace our student footsteps). This is a pretty way to see the campus.
Indoors! However, if you would like to explore campus weather permitting, the surrounding scenery is gorgeous!
Cocktail hour will begin at the Washington Duke Inn from 5pm-6pm in the lobby of our reception ballroom. Refreshments including soft drinks, beer, and house wine will be served with delicious hors d'oeuvres.
Yes! We know that sorting out childcare can be difficult, so you are welcome to bring your children.
Yes! Please make sure to note any dietary restrictions on your RSVP card or online RSVP and we will be more than happy to accommodate. We will also have gluten free cake.
